I've only been able to play the TP5 on winter Midwest greens that haven't been cut in months now.  Love the flight and feel but curious how it stacks up against the ProV1 on the one hop stop that I use through out the season. I play Vokey wedges and honestly I end up back with the PROV1 because of the green side capabilities that I haven't seen consistently from other brands.  Thanks for any info!

It’s excellent on partial shots with spin. Both are similar around and in the green (new Pro V1) both use a cast thermoset urethane cover.

I switched to TP5 last summer. Received a couple dozen as a tee gift for a Member/Guest. Around the green was the biggest reason. Very similar to PRO V1 wth the driver and irons but I can really get them to check from around the green.

For me the TP5 was the highest spinning ball around greens along with the ZStar. I've played both the Pro V1 and X, both Zstars, both Chrome Softs. Great ball. I go back and forth between the TP5 and the TP5x. Honestly at this point, any of the top balls are all great. The biggest factors for me is feel off the putter and flight into wind. TP5/x is a phenomenal choice.

This could be due to possibly playing in various conditions but I bought a doz of TP5 when they came out and thought they were a great wind ball but I didn't seem to get the same amount of check I got out of my usual gamer which is the B330S and RXS and also not as much as another gamer, Z star. Of course I'm not talking anything drastic but I found the TP5 rolling out more than I'm used to a several occasions and chipping, pitching is by far the best part of my 8.4 handicap game.

I believe a member here has a thread somewhere where he tested various premium balls on a monitor hitting chip shots and the numbers, which he posted, showed the B330S having the most spin initially but was then beat out by the new Tour B XS. I believe TP5 was included.

So the short answer to your question is from my experience and those results, the TP5 may spin a bit less around the greens for you compared to the ProV1, how much? I don't know. Will it be enough to be noticeable or affect the way you normally play shots? I don't know lol.

Anyone else have any issues with the TP5x off the putter? I love the ball off the tee, love it in the wind, think it's great around the green, but it just feels like it jumps off the putter too much. ProV1x just feels so much better off the putter, but I recon that's just me feeling uncomfortable with it. I'd like to switch, especially since you can buy TP5x at WalMart for $39 now, but just feels so different off the putter.

Well, it's Titleist loyalty month, Get 4 dz for the price of 3 - time to stock up.

And V1x gets you more greenside spin.

Iím testing balls and based on all the recommendations I started from the green. Yesterday I chipped and putted with both the Pro V1 and TP5 and the Pro V1 felt softer for some reason.  Iím not sure why but for some reason I wasnít getting along with the TP5.  I really wanted to love it since Walmart now has them for $40 per dozen but at the end my preference was the Pro V1.  Iíll soon test them out on full shots but I preferred the feel of the Pro V1.

Okay I did some more testing comparing both balls. Only chipping and putting.  This time I was striking both balls well. They were  both great. I could not tell them apart. Performance or feel.  Perhaps Once I hit full shots Iíll be able to tell if there is a difference.

Jesus delallata- my experience with the TP and PV mirror yours. Partial shot spin, the PV1 was better, mid shot spin the PV1 was better. Everywhere else I preferred the TP. As well, the TP went further for me off the driver and irons.

Did you find any difference on feel on full shots?  I want to test them both fully on full shots but I wonít be playing for a couple of weeks.

Maybe you should check out the Callaway Chrome Soft X. That is the ball Sergio plays........ From what we saw yesterday, it looks like this ball will spin and back up :)

No not really any difference. What I do notice is the TP feels heavier off the club face than the PV1 does. Where the TP feels heavy and clunky off the face, the PV1 feels lively. Interestingly enough, the balls react the same on the shot even though they feel different

The TP5 spins more around the green than any ball I have played in the last 15 years EXCEPT for the original Nike Tour Accuracy and Nike Platinum.

I have played both the TP5 and ProV1.  IMO, there is the slightest difference in green side spin but it's marginal at best.  I do think the latest version of the ProV1 flies noticeable lower than the TP5.

Still have a few TP5X from last year that I got from TM and they are very good. I can't rattle off numbers, but a little PW from 120 off a tee stopped on a dime, so I have to assume it's spinning just as much if not more than ProV.
