Yeah everyone is saying that they’re a replacement for the GMax but top line and offset seem more like G400 to me.

They look too good to hit. Maybe just buy a glass cabinet to display them in.

They usually deliver early orders ahead of time.  Same thing with i200... lots of people got theirs before the release date.  Maybe they try and get early orders shipped before they hit shelves to prevent a backup as much as possible?

Most fitters should have them in their fitting cart already....
My special order was received at the Golf Mart Superstore in my town a week ago. I was told by the store manager that he could not release them to me until March 29th because it would be against Ping's policy and doing so would void the store's account with Ping . I emailed Ping CS and they said the same thing...so what's the deal??? I've had my order in since the store advertised their pre-sale back in January!

I just got my set in today. I really don't see that much of a difference from the g400 to the 700. Here are some comparison pictures, the 400 is the grass stained iron. Can't wait to get these out on the course!

So here's what PING CS replied...Thank you for contacting PING and for visiting our website! I understand the inconvenience with your irons being at the shop already, but the release date of these irons are not until March 29th, so it would be against policy for the account to release the irons before the launch date. Any orders that are placed prior to the release date are considered pre-orders, so whether there are orders that have been shipped out already or may still be on order, they would not be available to consumers until this date. If you have any further concerns, please let us know?

Play your best!

So am I missing something here???? And I didn't know I could've ordered directly from PING...my bad!!!

I saw Rick Shiels video. He loved them. He said screw came out and head is empty. Anyone thought about trying to stuff cotton down in there to muffle the sound?

Trying to decide whether to add 5 G400 Crossover and then go 6-U or just go 5-U.  I love my 4 G400 Crossover.  I can murder that thing and so easy to hit.

Blade length is more like the GMax.

Hit them last night, about same distance as my G30's.
Had high hopes but not impressed, and they were GIGANTIC!
Oh well.
That said, the G400MAX is LEGIT.
OMG, launches at 10-12 with 2900-3300 for a terrible low launch - high spin numbers guy that I am.
Oh and all it wants to do is go straight.

Saw these again today.  They looked even bigger than I remembered, like comically big.  For as big and offset as they are they don't look terrible at address though.  Power Spec 4 iron is 18.5*, is that a new low?

I ended up walking out with JPX 900 Hot Metals to demo for a second time.  I'm down to the Hot Metals or keeping Pro Combos in the bag.  Will probably be pulling trigger on HMs soon.

I used to be a dyed in the wool PING guy, but since they went away from there utilitarian look I have been more apt to try other brands. Right now I’m using the JPX HM and I love them. The long irons are pretty easy to hit and I’m using a four iron for the first time in forever.

I demo-ed the G700 7i and hit a few G400 and GMax 7is today.

Wow sums it up.

The G700 club looks great at address, but is definitely long from heel to toe. I liked that as it gave me confidence. I found it straight and super, super long. My existing 7i is a 120m club (say 130 yards) as I have a slow swing and am a high handicapper. My best hits with the G700 were over 160m (so 175 yards). Ball flight was high, and most strikes were very straight.

It’s not a magic stick, so i still sprayed some shots, but most were really good.

There was no comparison to GMax, which was much shorter. G400 seemed forgiving and long too, but good hits with the G700 were in another league.

My store only had the 7i today. I will go again next week after the official launch date to hit a 4i and 9I or wedge. If they’re as good as the 7i I will be ordering on the spot.

My existing 7i is a 120m club (say 130 yards) as I have a slow swing and am a high handicapper. My best hits with the G700 were over 160m (so 175 yards). Ball flight was high, and most strikes were very straight.

+45 yards ?

I'd have to disagree. It IS a magic stick,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Being fair, my old clubs are nearing 20 years old, but you can see why I was blown away. A gentle swing (feeling like I wasn’t trying to hit it hard at all) was going 145 - 150 yards+....
