Last year I played in a league that had no wagering, just league prize money. I'm polling because I've joined a league where wagering will be the norm for some players. I prefer to skip having a bet on a round, but I have gone along with small wagers on occasion. Some players just can't play without some bet, most notably corporate events IME.

it's mostly friendly bets with the group I play with since we're all at different skill levels. So usually just for drinks or low cash amounts ($1-$5)

Our foursome usually plays "sixes", change partners every 6 holes.  The typical bet is 2 bucks per 6 holes. You have to win the hole outright on total score.

Standard game is a $5 best ball Nassau with auto 2 down presses. Depending on the group, we’ll often also have individual Nassaus with the other team. 9 point with loser buying a round works on weeknights if we only have 3 guys. I’m one that doesn’t like to play without some type of game. At that point it’s just practice and I’ll just hit random shots and drop extra balls to work on something.

Our league does a $100 buy in for season & playoff prizes.  We also throw in $5 for skins weekly.  Even causal rounds we play for drinks at a minimum.. I can't tell you the last time I played a round without some sort of bet - never for big money though.

95% of my rounds of golf there is nothing at all on the line. I just enjoy my friends, enjoy the weather and being outside.

When there is money, it's either $1/hole (plus $1 greenies, sandies, polies) with our 4some, or we have a $5/head skins with no carry overs that usually has 10-15 guys playing in it. I wont bet any more than a few dollars, and I wont bet every time I play golf. I play for the enjoyment of the game and the company on the course, not to compete with other people.

We used to play "wolf".  But after I lost $15 in 18 holes playing "wolf" .  that is no more.  Now its just $2 per side with my golfing partner.  Full cap Match play.

Lucky you, first time I played wolf I lost $118, lol. I learned the strategy during that miserable experience and started cleaning up in that group. I usually left with anywhere from $50-$80.

I honestly don’t remember. That was about 7-8 years ago.

$15 really isn’t bad. I’ve seen that format produce some big, big losses.  Especially when the low man gets the lead position on the last two holes and trys to really push the envelope trying to get back to even.

Our normal range is usually in the $20-50 win or loss

I would hate to play in a league without skin's and pins. I've never won any actually league winnings so I rely on the other stuff to get some of the money back.

Outside of league I like playing OCD best ball. Bet is usually 5/5/5 or 10/10/10.

Normally play in a $15 points/skins game plus some trash or side bets normally worth anywhere from $5-$25. So I fall in the $21-$50

Occasionally we pair up and play 4Bbb and $5 wager for a 200 club lottery.
The losers pay the $10 and potentially the whole group has 3/200 chance of winning money back either $1000, $500 or $250.
The club pockets the balance as profit.
Do you really want to know WITB? Oh ok (talk about peer pressure!)
My favourite clubs I use sometimes (A$480 total):
Srixon Z745 10.5degree driver Mitsubishi Rayon X flex $100
Srixon F45 15 degree fairway wood Stiff flex $150
Srixon H45 18 degree 3 hybrid Mitsubishi Rayon X flex $75
Srixon i302 3 - SW RIfle 5.0 Shafts $135
Bridgestown 60 degree lob wedge $20
Odyssey Two ball Fang (Gift)

This is me => my group plays $2 bets (2 man teams) - but with auto 2 down presses + $1 birdies, it can add up if a team get s hot.
