How could anyone write anything negative about Tiger Woods?  Devoted family man, great tipper, gave fascinatingly open interviews, and his on-course behavior was above reproach.  Fake news!  Sad!
You’re right. Let’s continue to write several million books and articles about it. Let’s also continue to support paparazzi making money off stalking Tiger and taking pictures of his children.

Or we could stop re-hashing this man’s bad life moments, particularly continually bringing up his dead dad’s indiscretions. I hate that some nobody can make money by taking advantage of a famous person’s name, and further more, attempting to trash his name.

Nobody trashed Tiger Woods’ name as bad as Tiger Woods.  And if you look hard enough I’m sure you can find a perfectly saccharine book about Tiger Woods that only includes what he wants included.

Books about Tiger Woods have been completely overdone.

There's not going to be a better inside-the-ropes one than the Big Miss with Hank Haney, there's not going to be a better written one about his rise than Tom Callahan's, the scandal and funny, pisstake one is covered by Alan Shipnuck in The Swinger.

Don't think it's the best time for a release when he is mid-comeback. Another book including a redemption story should Tiger start winning again might be worth a few more books.

The part about the PED allegations should be interesting

just curious (not flaming) ... if you think he did peds, do you think he did peds continuously, or just for a brief time to get big, or just after major injuries, or every now and then to maintain?

No, but this isn't a comforting article - http://www.golf.com/...s-new-book-says

Even if he did......

1) The PGA Tour deserves some blame for their behind-the-times drug testing policies

2) He sure as hell wasn't the only one doing it

3) How effective could they really be if he hasn't been consistently healthy in years? After all, PEDs are supposed to help athletes recover from injuries

4) It's possible we never would have known about it, as the PGA Tour could just "encourage" Mr. Woods to take an oddly-timed "break"

Keep in mind that this new book is written by two very credible reporters, so we can't dismiss this book as a hit piece.

Why is that such a disturbing article? It's not new information. Did anyone really think he wasn't paying Galea? Plus you have someone claiming to have been there (Haney) and nothing shady went on.

To quote Haney at the end:

"I was there and watched the whole procedure," Haney said. "There was never anything that went into Tiger Woods's body that didn't come out of his body. They take blood out, they spin it, they inject the plasma back in. I totally believe that Tiger Woods has never taken any performance-enhancing drugs."

Sure

OJ Simpson/Tiger Woods is a gifted, African American athlete who was born in California, grew up with an eccentric father and a protective mother, whose relationship was tested prior to his years as a dominant athlete.  Becoming a dominant athlete in his sport, he was the highest paid in his sport.

Becoming a great athlete is tough, but he preservered by attending a PAC-10 school and became the best in his sport winning a year end award signifying that.

His pro career was fabulous but was cut short due to injury.  He broke many records and was revered in the eyes of the fans.  His nickname became a household name.  He is a terrible film actor.  He married a white woman, which ended up in murder (Simpson) and divorce (Woods).

There are some similarities, and then their stories greatly, greatly diverge. Aside from the murder case, Simpson was in prison for six years for armed burglary also. Tiger has had a DUI and the sex scandal, but the latter never broke the law.

The only connection I see between OJ and Tiger is that they both don't see it as their responsibility to be voices for the African-American community

This book sounds like more tabloid novelty.  Sure, Tiger has led a sordid life off the course, but what business of that is ours?  How about we start looking more closely into the exploits of other golf legends from days gone by?  Tiger isn't the first to have exhibited narcisstic, anti-social behaviour (Ben Hogan), or to be known as a carouser (Walter Hagen, Tom Watson), but there are no books about their exploits.
The guy has done great things for the game, and had a tough (almost weird) upbringing by a father who had many issues of his own.  Most of us are happy to see him back on the course doing things that many of his peers still revel at.  Let's enjoy it and be done with this trash.

The only connection I see between OJ and Tiger is that they both don't see it as their responsibility to be voices for the African-American community

Tiger has led a very interesting life.  If you think about it...very similar pattern to OJ Simpson.

?! Ok, I've thought about it, and I don't see any 'similar pattern'. Care to elaborate?

Yes?

He's only 42. A bit early for a biography I would think. What's the next 42 years? A footnote?

Bobby Jones wrote an autobiography in 1928 when he was 26 or 27 years old.

He wrote another later in life after his 1930 run.

I write an autobiography everyday...on Instagram.

You ever wonder if you took someone from the past and started their birth year in like 1995.  Give them access to things they didnt have.  How much more of a jerk would Hogan be?  Would Arnie have been caught up in the whole YouTube, self promotion sensationalism?

Any Timeless (NBC, Sundays, 10pm), fans would understand

It's sad that just as someone rises up there is always someone else who is eager to take them down even more quickly.
