Reading the info on the wedge they are actually going the opposite way on the progressive weighting. They say they are going with lower center of gravity on the higher lofted wedges and higher center of gravity on lower lofted wedges. Opposite of Vokey.

I might have considered these but the shaft options are severely lacking.

Completely agree.  Just sent them an email that they desperately need to add a couple wedge shaft choices.

I agree, however, I will add that I'm usually not impressed with my shaft options when I buy any wedges. Usually I just swap the shaft from my old wedge into my new one and move on. Chances are that I need to rebuild the new one to get the swing weight and final length that I want anyway.

That said, I've been SCREAMING for Hogan to start offering components. I'm sure that the option to buy bare heads would be very popular to some markets (like WRX). It's quick/easy turnover for Hogan as well. Head, ferrule, box, done. Repeat.

This is correct and a really good catch. I stand corrected. This is also an interesting design that harks back to how a lot of clubs used to be designed. Moving the COG so it is above the point of contact will add spin and these are designed to fly flatter but bite, as opposed to designs that help the golfer get the ball in the air with lots of weight toward the sole, even though most players don’t need such help with a wedge. I’d like to hit a few shots with these and see how the ball flies.

Very attractive price point.  Not sure, aesthetically, how I feel about that crosshatch pattern on the backs though.

i am more interested in what they look like when looking down at the ball. the pictures are not terrible but not amazing either. there is something that looks a little "off" about them.

It has always baffled me how when I'm looking to see pics on the net how irons look at address position it's near impossible.   Always lots of pretty closeups of the sole or rear of iron.  It's like many golf course websites show pics of a pond and a tree or pics of how a wedding would look at their golf course.  Guess wedding photographers are moonlighting as golf photographers.

I'm betting these wedges look great in person though.  100 bucks not too shabby for price.

i think what makes it hard on the net is it is just a plain white background. shown against grass with a ball lends needed perspective. Otherwise, to me the proportions look of. I think many times it is just an illusion.

It’s surely referring to the irons in the bag with the equalizer wedges on the website video.

They teased the wedges the same way a couple weeks ago.

Here’s the new post:

Just looked at the specs for the Edge irons, they have “traditional” lofts despite being their GI iron, so that’s interesting

They really do need another shaft. Maybe more than one.

Tour V might be a good shaft - I dont get along with it. Id LOVE to get a set of PTXs and TK15s or Equalizers. But if I have them reshafted I can also get fit for AP2s or MP18s and still save money...

I'll give them a try for sure. I have a pretty good stock of TK-15s that I need to wear out first though (8 at the moment, 3 of them are about ready to retire).

do they wear faster than any other forged wedge?

No, not all. I just hit a lot of balls on very sandy ranges. I can usually squeeze about 1 full season out of a set of wedges although I feel much more comfortable replacing them at roughly the 1/2 season mark (when I can still get a little resale out of the heads).

Beautiful looking 56 degree wedge.  Hit it at the range and off a mat but still felt great.

I have the Ft worth irons  and fli hi 4,5 & 6.  i love these irons.  There is something about the v sole on these
irons that make hitting the ball soooo easy.   The best bargain in golf!
