Beastmode engaged!!!

Easy access hotmelt port.   Slap that carbon crown on with some epoxy.  Call it a day.

OR

Call customer service and ask for a new head or a refund.

That stinks Rgr.  Hope the drive was piped down the middle.

That is spectacular.   A positive customer service story seems to be in short supply as of late.

I've not seen them in person or swung anything through the set so I'll reserve judgement.

Tommy Armour 845's were the $hit back in the 80's.  They were very good irons and It seems everyone had a set of them or their trusty Eye 2's.

I find it strange that Dick's/GG brings back these good old brands (Slazenger, Maxfli):  The older crowd knows the quality's not the same and the younger crowd doesn't know the historical value of the brand.  Odd marketing.

OP, thanks for the post.  Always interesting to see new stuff.
Yes, when I first started playing golf in the early 90's it seemed like everyone I met had either TA 845's or Ping Eye 2.  Occasionally you would see some Hogan (which I played), Wilson, or Mizuno.  For Wedges, everyone played the Eye 2 or Cleveland 588.  And, TaylorMade was probably the most popular driver, even way back then.

Update:  Had not played in a week.  2nd week of league has come and gone.  Mixed bag of shorts.  Shot a 41.  Started night of bad with a drive OB.  Had no business hitting my driver on 1st hole, never have and not sure why I did lol.

My iron play was good.  I was just a little rusty mentally.  Missed 4 birdie putts.

Mental errors killed me, 3 were purely club selection and 1 trying something different out of the sand.

Started 4 bogies, 4 pars and finished with a double.  I will take a bad round 41 all day

And the King Cobra irons and their stronger lofts

855s were my first real set, back in the 90s.  I prefer Mizuno now, but tried out the TA1 7-iron on the launch monitor over the weekend while waiting for Dicks to regrip a wedge.  The ball jumps off the clubface, and while the feel was nowhere near my MP54's, the club felt very solid at impact.  Some people will have a hard time getting past the look of these clubs, but my takeaway is to go hit these things and then form an opinion.  But what do I know...

They're solid, although most will have to get past the branding/ looks, probably won't be a success.

Even the Top Flite brand at DSG has some gem clubs, surprisingly.  The Tour (black) Wedges (traditional, CB, and Blast Out) are classic shape, forged, and have some very aggressive face milling.  I have the 54* and 58* Blast Out in my backup bag, and they were a steal at 2 for $80 and are now $36 each on clearance.  The grips are junk, but otherwise, excellent value wedges.  The Gamer Tour wedge that replaces them are not nearly as nice, probably because they're positioning TA as the "premium house brand".

Saw the DSG flash sale and remembered this thread.  On sale for $250 with KBS Tour shafts.  Not a bad deal for a beginner or backup set.  Act fast if you’re interested as sale ends this evening.
