I recently received a custom Sensor model from Kari, which I created a separate thread for.  I was blown away with the craftsmanship, attention to detail, and of course, the roll and feel.

I've always wanted a mallet, but have gravitated towards a plumbers neck blade.  I've been tossing around ideas for a while, and finally pulled the trigger on another Lajosi.

I've ordered a LP 421 model which is similar to a Fastback.  It will have a welded flow neck, which will match the toe hang of my sensor.  Looking forward to seeing this one come together, and will post pictures as I get them.

If anyone is on the fence about Kari, it's so worth it.  Pretty much endless design options, and Kari is a pleasure to work with.

Thanks.

Fantastic looking head, one of the better interpretations of it out there imho.  Bang on with the fastback comparison.  If I ever get enough disposable funds to do another custom build from him, a plumbers neck version of this is on my shortlist.

Agreed. I was looking for a plumbers neck originally, but it would have weighed too much for my preference. Hence, the flow neck with the same toe hang.

Huh, how much head weight were you looking at?
Will be keeping an eye on this thread for updates.

Kari advised that the head was designed for a single bend shaft, so with a flow neck it would be 360ish. To get it lighter overall he would have to modify the design, or add ports in the sole. A plumbers neck would have added even more weight.

Hope that makes sense.

Yup, absolutely makes sense.  And I'd actually be fine with the added weight of a plumbers neck seeing as how my dd201-wb is at 365g.
Thanks for the info and good luck with the build!

Kari sent me some pics off the mill today.  It's exciting and such a cool experience to see it come together.

Received and basement rolled it last night.  Another exceptional example of Kariís craftsmanship and ability to meet a customers request.
The toe hang perfectly matches my plumbers neck sensor, and I see myself rotating between them quite easily.  Very solid feel and sound.
