Hello WRXers,

I'm talking my buddy golfing for the first time while we're in Vegas for March Madness.  I'm buying him a lesson prior to teeing off but am having trouble finding a course near the strip that is empty this Saturday (3/17).  Yes, I know I have two things working against me 1. It's prime time in Vegas for golf 2. The influx of people to Vegas due to March Madness.  But, I know how it is golfing with a newbie and don't want to piss off the other two players in our group.  As of now, I've booked Las Vegas National (mainly due to location).  But, If it can just be the two of us on the course that would trump everything.

Just have the newbie not affect the pace of play and you can play anywhere. I have zero issue playing with new golfers, but if you are on shot 10 and not on the green yet please pick up.

“but am having trouble finding a course near the strip that is empty this Saturday (3/17)”

I certainly hope you cannot find an empty course on a weekend during prime season.

Play some place like Las Vegas Golf Club that is already going to be running at a 5-6+ hour pace with lots of hackers on a busy Saturday and you won't have to worry about slowing anyone down.

The only creative thing I could think of is getting a late start and playing 9-12 holes. I have never teed off with only 2-ish hours left til sundown but I can't imagine it being crowded. Only thing would be is would the course let you out that late.

Vegas this weekend is completely insane. I could see Thursday and Friday actually possibly being a little more open than normal because I would guess most golfers in the Vegas area, and everyone in the area, is there to watch the games. But it is considerably less "buzzy" on Saturday and is a good time to get a round in.
