I know the Kombi S was made out of stainless steel in a much smaller head, but was it 303 SS?

Does it have a nice feel compared to the newer Scottys?

It is made of precision milled 6061 aircraft aluminum.

The original Kombi was made from aluminum, but Scotty also made a Stainless Steel version in a smaller foot print. They look almost the same, the original Kombi has three circle weights on the bottom, as the Kombi S (for SS) has one long weight strip down the center of the putter.

I don't think it's 303 Stainless. If you look at other putters from that year on the Scotty website, they indicate 303 Stainless whereas the Kombi-S doesnt.

I have a studio select laguna 2 and a kombi-s. All other things considered, they don't "feel" different to me when the putter makes contact with the ball. Maybe the kombi-s is made of 303 stainless as well even if it's not stated in the sc putter archive?

Just got off the phone with Scotty Cameron studio custom shop and they confirmed that it was 303ss.

STUDIO SELECT KOMBI™
KOMBI-S
ARCHIVAL PUTTER 2009

Answering the call from the world’s best players for a smaller Kombi putter, Scotty designed the Studio Select Kombi-S—the “S” signifying stainless steel. By milling the Kombi-S from a single block of steel, Scotty was able to craft the overall design into a more compact mallet, while maintaining the desired head weight in proportion to the smaller size.

In keeping with the Kombi philosophy, one putter head can accommodate several shaft lengths due to the interchangeable sole weight. These components work perfectly together creating a mallet of remarkable balance and form.
With its flowing, melt-into-the-ground profile, sleek styling and smaller head size, the Tour-tested Kombi-S gives players advanced putting technology, superior craftsmanship and proven Scotty Cameron performance.

The Kombi-S built on the Studio Select line’s unmistakable stylings such as the bold Cherry Dot graphics; rich, translucent red lacquer paintfill; misted, glare-reducing finish; red Cameron cord grip and stepless shaft. T-shaped, high contrast red sight lines serve as clear alignment aids, making the Kombi-S a proven performer and a welcomed stainless steel addition to the putter line.

I had one years ago. It had a similar feel to my Studio Select Newport 2 mid-slant.

To the original post... i relate the Kombi (and all non-insert Scotty's) to the feel of shutting the drivers side door on a new Jeep Grand Cherokee. It's a solid thunk, not cheap but worth the money every roll.
