Just saw him hit his tee shot on the par 3 15th, and it was definitely not the usual Steelfiber's. Looked to be some type of Modus. When did this happen?

Looks like he was graphite at the end of February and this week using Modus. Looks like a pretty solid upgrade!

His iron misses were pretty bad today, survived the round though. Probably still adjusting

being a Bstone/Steelfiber user I usually follow his and others' changes.  Although I didn't notice or know he changed, I was thinking he was not getting enough height or stopping spin this weekend.

I strongly agree. Especially out of the rough, even decent lies he was getting so much more rollout than Iím used to seeing from him.

They did say he shortened his swing too though which could contribute to lower launch + less spin. Dunno...

Personally thought it was an Odd shaft switch. Wish him well though

So steelfiber had Snedeker and Kuchar on tour playing steelfiber and both have changed or close to changing to other shafts.  I did a fitting and was fit for steelfiber shafts, and it was the most inaccurate shaft I've ever played.  I've played DG, KBS, Project X, and now Nippon, and although I gained a few yards with steelfiber I was so inconsistent with them.  Not saying this has anything to do with Snedeker or Kuchar, but for me steelfibers were overrated.

I made the change from DG300 S to i95 S. I think it just has to do with swing characteristics. I guess thats why there are so many different shafts out there.  I didn't find a loss of consistency with the steelfibers.

I don't see changing out of the steelfibers anytime soon.

Definitely looked like more roll out on all his irons. Maybe due to his swing change he was loading the shaft differently and his fitter suggested somethign lower launching?

Sounds like a poor fit for your needs and swing.  Maybe too light and/or not enough feeling of flex in the hands, resulting in poor tempo.  Just guessing but I do know poor accuracy is not the shafts fault, it comes from the swing.

On the broadcast they said he made the change to a little heavier steel shaft because he was looking to tighten up his swing.  They said he has been struggling to get his irons on plane.

He needs a win to get into the Masters, so I'm sure yesterday was extremely disappointing.

I started to post here that I was recently fit into the Steelfiber i110's then realized that had absolutely nothing to do with what Sned is playing or Kuchar for that matter.  Am I correct in that these two are the only ones on the PGA tour playing/played Steelfiber?

There are several.  Fred Couples & Hale Irwin on the Champions tour.  Sam Saunders, Ben Crane, Peter Malnati on the PGA tour.  That's just a few off the top of my head.

The shaft weight (125 grams) was the same I always play, but the entire club did feel lighter the way the shaft felt, so that didn't help at all.  I just know they didn't work and I has since moved on to Nippon shafts.  The Nippon shaft is a great steel shaft that feels so smooth and feels better then the steelfiber...in my opinion of course.

He definitely managed to score first 3 days. But if you watched his misses and inability to hold greens on shots he usually he does, it was different. The guy is a lights out putter so he can hide big misses, he had several huge misses

Curious what your source is for that?   The couple of times I tried to take a close look on Sunday , the shafts appeared to be stepless based on the way the light reflected off them at address (which I'm pretty sure is not the case for the 105's).  But I admit I couldn't get a real good look since they weren't really giving him much coverage on Sunday.

Sounds like he needs a shaft that weighs more why would anyone want an iron shaft that light when youíre a strong as he is

Believe it or not, the Modus 105 is the #2 Nippon shaft played on the PGA Tour, behind the Modus 120 which is their horse.  Lots of notable players have used/currently use the 105 (ST prototype) including Charlie Hoffman, Bill Haas, Scott Stallings...  Michelle Wie won last week with the 105, Paul Casey won the the 120 and Vijay had Modus in play as well.

I recently changed from DG 300s to Steelfiber i95s and got lessons with trackman at the same time.  Definitely improved my numbers

Thanks.   Interesting he used the term "tighten up" with respect to a significantly softer shaft.

When I read that paragraph I’m getting that he was talking dispersion and distance control:

“Felt like it was time to tighten stuff up," Snedeker said of the new iron setup. "Wasn't coming off where I was looking. The shafts so far, kind of know the distance right away when I put them in. So far so good. Hoping they keep hanging in."

I don’t have much experience with steelfiber, but is the i95 stiff actually stiffer than a105x modus? I’ve played the 105x and it’s definitely not a noodle.
