Mizuno irons are always money but my god they have to clean up their lines.  They have like 15 sets of irons for sale at this point.

They have;

MP-18 MB
MP-18 SC
MP-18 MMC
MP-18 Fli Hi
JPX 900 Tour
JPX 900 Forged
JPX 900 Hot Metal

T7 Wedges
S18 Wedges

can you really count the fli hi as a set? it is just 2-5 iron right?

They should of switched the profiles of the SC and MMC. Make the bigger iron have the titanium and weird gizmos. I wanted a straight forged but the SC is just too chunky

The SC is smaller than the MMC. The MMC has both a thicker top line and longer blade length compared to the SC.

Ping G400 Max 10.5*
Ping G25 16.5*
Ping G Hybrid 19*
Mizuno MP 18 SC (4-PW)
Mizuno MP T5 52*, 58*
Mizuno TP Mills Workshop #1

I like to hear that....

I talked to a Mizuno Rep, they won't know anything about release date until the summer.  He stated that the JPX should be replaced though.

Ive never understood why they do a September release, its the end of the US and European summer. Surely at least a July release would give you a mid season bump in sales and start the financial year number off well.

It is a perfect release date.  You get to game them a bit before the season ends, then still feel like you have new sticks the following Spring.

Epic 3H - Tensei Pro White 90
MP Fli-Hi/919T Combo 4-P - PX LZ 6.0

I like the later release date because otherwise great clubs would be buried in the Dec-Feb marketing rubbish spewed out by TM and Callaway every year.

By the time Fall rolls around there'll be plenty of folks not seeing the performance or results from their Rogues/M3s and lured by the only new and shiny clubs out will be tempted to switch.

Was at my local shop yesterday and they had slashed their entire Mizuno line in anticipation. I agree, I play SC's but it is exhausting keeping up with their products.

Exhausting? I always thought Mizuno’s line up was easy to follow. Even more so the last 2 years.  Mizuno’s refreshing their iron models every 2 years (MP one year/ JPX the following year) exhausts you then steer clear of Callaway and TaylorMade!

That sounds strange. This is the JPX year for NEW irons. MP just came out and aren't do to change until fall of 2019 for the 2020 season.

yes that is what i said about JPX. you said they marked down their ENTIRE mizuno line which would imply the MP line

New or not new they are doing great on tours but my local Pro and off course store are struggling to move anything iron wise which is baffling.

I think people pass over Mizuno because of the lack of noticeable Tour presence. Us golf nuts know the irons are in lots of Tour bags but we are unlike most golfers. Most golfers see TM bags, Callaway bag and Titleist bags on Tour so they more easily identify with these brands and are more prone to test/buy they. it’s the “it’s played on Tour it must be good” thinking. But once someone tests Mizuno the bias against them fades and the appreciation starts to grow.

It's fairly difficult to find a Mizuno fitter as well. I'm lucky enough that my club pro and coach have access to their clubs. But over here the "big" golf stores, although stocking Mizuno equipment, will NEVER fit someone into it.

Taylormade, Callaway and in recent years Cobra are where they star with. If someone doesn't know anything about golf, takes the game up and goes to get fit you will likely never hear of Mizuno or Titleist because the stores are incentivised to put people people into certain irons.

They have;

MP-18 MB
MP-18 SC

Could of fooled me, I was holding them up next to each other trying to point out with one was smaller. Looked nearly identical but mmc was looking a hair smaller sole

If someone doesn't know anything about golf, takes the game up and goes to get fit you will likely never hear of Mizuno or Titleist because the stores are incentivised to put people people into certain irons.

taylormade pays zero incentive. Mizuno does FYI. No one at the store i work in even trys to sell TM clubs. people have to come in looking for it. TM makes good clubs but out of all the companies they are the absolute worst to deal with. everything is back ordered because they cannot manage inventory, the people are crappy to deal with, and again every other company pays some kind of incentive to sell their clubs. TM does not.

callaway pays the best incentive.

Hopefully the jpx tour replacements have a decent hosel flow in the short irons. They really can't shape short irons for $hit. If they do I'll be straight in for a set. For the love of god just look at I blade short irons or something Voshal & take inspiration. None of that bendy offset looking hosel  80's stuff.
