just messin....

We have had a great winter here in wa.  Have played all winter more or less with just a few weeks no go.  Fall form in March is a wonderful, and unusual thing.

I think if my annual buddies golf trip around this time wasn't cancelled this year I'd be doing better with not playing yet, but now I'm getting even more antsy for the mid30 temps to go away

I'd be happy if it would stop snowing so that I could play. Don't care about the cold at this point either. Just want to play soon!!

We still have 2 feet of snow on the ground most places here. To battle the depression, I started shopping for new clubs and started hitting balls and getting the occasional lesson at my club - we have a flightscope set up inside that I haven't been utilizing as much as I should.

That's better! Lovely day today. 12 degrees and mostly sunny. And for some reason my ball striking was mostly excellent. I was hitting my 7i 160 yards,  my driver produced some great shots. Even my 3h mostly behaved itself. Almost every shot that went wrong was followed by an amazing recovery.

Ended up with a 94 playing the tips at Rye Hill (7100 yards). Very decent considering how soggy the back 9 was. 45 out, 49 in.

And no-one with a 22 hcp is going to complain about a 94 :)

Looks like the snow has all gone and spring is finally on the way. Now the clocks have changed and its a little lighter in the evenings I might be able to get a quick 9 holes in after work. No one bought my golf cubs, so I have taken them off ebay and I have ordered some leather Grip Master grips and will keep the clubs for a few more years. Really looking forward to getting the handicap down to 10 and winning some society competitions!

Was able to squeeze 9 I after work today. Course was really waterlogged, but I didnít care. Itís supposed to snow here on Sunday and then rain and high 40ís-low 50ís all next week. Might be able to squeeze one more round in tomorrow if the rain is light enough in the morning and the temps get up to what they are forecasting. Big if at this point in the spring though :(

Played 18 this weekend on a wet, so so course that opened this weekend. Great to get out and see the courses open and then........ It snowed again this morning. Thankfully it wasn't much and it melted by the end of the day. Tee time all set for next weekend and hoping the weather cooperates so that the courses can start to wake up. Wow this had been a long winter.

The start of this golf season has been a tease.  Got to play quite a few times in February and early March, but here recently have had nothing but rain/snow and cold temperatures.

Was muddy in a few places today. In one place it nearly sucked my FootJoys off. But now we've got blue skies and warm sun. It's streaming in through the windows.

It's not just cold, but the long range (and I'm talking into late May) barely shows a day above norms........  Usually we are teased with a great week, but not since February has there been above average temps for more then 1 day......

The problem is that once there is decent weather the courses (and my club) will be jammed too.............

I was just looking at our extended forecast. In two weeks our average temp is supposed to be in the 60's. Forecast shows we will be more than 10 degrees below that. And that's going to be the warmest day in the next two weeks. Not even 50 degrees. We are on track to basically have no Spring. If the courses are open by May 1st I'll be shocked.

Withdrawal? Let me tell u about withdrawal. Had my hip ball replaced. Taking out a recalled Titanium ball for one made of urethane. Watched the Masters and realized I’m not getting to golf until Mid July. Read an article in the new Golf Digest, the writer has Parkinson’s , he’s in his 50s and had to stop playing.  Weather withdrawal and even many health issues have an end in sight. But Parkinson’s and others haven’t. Be thankful it’s only weather.

And that is always a worry as we grow older......  I'm just getting in to the Private course, kids grown and time to myself.

The weather here is putrid with an ice storm yesterday and only heating up to the 40's over the next 14 days.....  Expect 60's and club probably won't officially open 'til May......  Then expect full tee sheets and slower rounds......  Maybe mid June some decent weather??????

So yes just bellyaching about the weather seems so minimal a concern (but haven't swum since end of October)....

Because it was in a metal cup . Got chromium and cobalt in my body. This is why they were recalled. So I went from cutting edge golf to older bowling ball technology .
