Of course, I said that, and now that the deadline passed and my short game is really good (so far) I'm wishing I would have entered.
Oh well, there's still APL, Am and Mid Am this summer.
Good luck guys!

Thanks. I don't play much tournament golf these days either. I'm hoping to play a few this summer. I'm playing in the Carolinas Open first week of May. Maybe that will get me in some sort of playing shape so I cna make a decent showing in the Open qualifying?

That's great to see so many guys on here that are trying to qualify. Maybe there will be a story come out of one of you. I think you all should keep this thread alive with reports on your preparations, rounds and thoughts about the whole process, I know I would find it interesting.

Have you played The Surf Club? I've heard it's probably the best in the Myrtle Area.

T, Congrats on making it that far. I'm sure you were disappointed but sounds like you hit the ball well and have nothing to be ashamed of. On a side note, I can't help but wonder. Do you know if Jeffrey Jordan T-80 is the MJ's son? I believe they have relocated down there and I know Jeffrey didn't have a lot of BB offer's but maybe he's taking his own direction and going to be better than Dad at something

As for the no carders, they probably will get a letter. I withdrew a few years ago due to a legitimate injury and told the scorer that I was withrawing due to injury, not no carding. The guy was a real jerk and I found out he no carded me when I was looking at the scores online. The following year I get the letter and have to reply with a letter of my own plus playing records.
As for my playing, I'm not ashamed at all. Just dissapointed. I easily hit it well enough to make it if I have just putted average. I hit most of the fairways and 15 greens. Oh well, there's always next year.

Well that's good that they're protecting the field. Nothing like playing with a guy for 4 hours that shoots 102 only to find out he's coming back next year because he didn't turn in his card and therefore didn't turn in a round over 8 shots over the rating.
Looks like you were maybe a few putts here and there from Sectional Qualifying. Definitely nothing to be ashamed of and something to work for next year too!
Anyone else got scores?

Thanks. I don't play much tournament golf these days either. I'm hoping to play a few this summer. I'm playing in the Carolinas Open first week of May. Maybe that will get me in some sort of playing shape so I cna make a decent showing in the Open qualifying?
Dang was gonna play Surf last weekend but got 2 rounds for what they was gonna charge me there, so I skipped this time if would have only 1 day to play would have played but I had 2,anyway goodluck in that also. I got a new baby and it's throtteld me back a little, but I love it.
Have you played The Surf Club? I've heard it's probably the best in the Myrtle Area.
Yes, have played it quite a bit for the past 25 yrs. they just went private, but will still let some outside play in, but I paly with some of the members from Charlotte. Good to hear Gaston in good shape but I dont remember much it's been so long.
