Hello all,
I'm interested in buying a 7 wood.Any one have any suggestions?Would like something that's good both off the turf and tee.I saw a couple for sale that I was interested in.Both are new.Cleveland Launcher Steel (2006 version) and a Srixon Z 355.

Thanks,Gary :golfer:

I've had a Adams Speedline LP for years. I've tried other 7 woods, hybrids, long irons, driving irons and I always come back to it.

Any TM 5hl from last few years is basically a 7 wood at 21*. Personally I use an r15 5hl because it's adjustable

Maybe try a Callaway Heavenwood too. I have the Epic version which is 1 degree stronger than the 7w but with a long shaft equivalent to 4w. It is amazingly easy to hit off the grass.

Man, there are a lot of good options. Just make sure you get a shaft that suits you in weight, flex, length, etc...

Ping G/G400 have a 7 wood. You won't find anything easier to hit off the deck than those.

Honma makes a really really nice 7 wood. Can pick up the 727 stuff cheap and I think they have better shaft selection than the USDM stuff.

V-steel feels great, and I like the small head. But as stated above, getting the right shaft for your chosen 7w is essential.

Hope to test an F7 7 wood next week. I really like the Rbz 7 wood, very reliable. I am trying out an XR16 right now to see how it does. See if Exotics carries 7 woods, really impressed with the Trilogy. Ping makes great fairway woods as well.

Callaway XR 7 wood. Very good. Also, have an older Ping G15  7 wood. Good as well. XR face is a little hotter.

Check my signature. The Callaway GBB Heavenwood is fantastic from the tee and turf. Love the matt finish and very slight triangular shape.
I'm a big JDM fan, and I've finally got hold of a Quadra Fire Express shaft for my GBB 3w and Heavenwood for testing. I play these clubs an inch shorter (42"/41") and I hate the look of lead tape, but after trying the tape to see what weight needs to be added I've ordered some Epic weights which fit the GBB heads.
I play the 3w at neutral & 16* and the Heavenwood at neutral & 21*. Awesome stuff and cheaper than buying new........

Driver: Callaway XR16 SZ 9.5* + Oban Kiyoshi HB 65 05, 45", MCC Plus 4.
FW: Callaway GBB 3w lofted to 16* + Fire Express 75x, 42", MCC Plus 4 Align.
FW: Callaway GBB Heavenwood lofted to 21* + Fire Express 75 Pro x, 41", MCC Plus 4 Align.
Irons: Srixon Z945 pw-8i/Z745 7i-4i + DG SL X100, Superstroke.
Wedges: Miura WMF-06 53*/58*, Callaway V-Forged 64*.
Putter: Rife Barbados island.

If you are like me and play the SF Tec driver, then Ping makes great 7 woods that fit the bill.   I play the G SF Tec series driver and 3 wood along with the Ping K15 SF Tec 5 and 7 wood.  The 5 and 7 are so much easier to launch and much more accurate then the corresponding 3 and 4 irons.

When you launch a K15 5 wood or 7 wood into a green it will stay where you hit it. My 7 wood has zero roll out when hit into a green.  I like them much more then the hybrids I've tried.  I also hit the 5 and 7 woods off the tee box without hesitation.  The K15s will stay in the bag for a long time.

Some of the older callaways are outstanding 7 woods even today....so easy to hit and boy the work. Plus you can get one for next to nothing.

Thanks every one for your suggestions.I'm curious what you think of these two clubs.I found believe it or not a brand new 2006 Cleveland Launcher Steel 7 wood for less than 60 bucks with head cover.I owned a 3 and 5 years ago and if I recall hit them pretty good.I also found a Srixon Z 355 7 wood also new for around 90 bucks with head cover.I've never hit the Srixon before and it looks like it's more of a low profile wood. What do you all think of those two choices?I'm 66 and of coarse I don't have the same swing speed I had 10-20 years ago.

Thanks,Gary :golfer:

Just picked up a new SLDR TP 5HL. It's 21* and I can turn it down to 20 if needed. It feels awesome, it's small, and it launches.

It's taken me a freaking year to find this.

Off tee, deck, and trouble?

Try Callaway Steelhead XR on callawaypreowned. Cup face, carbon top, deep face off tree, low COG for off the deck, cambered sole for trouble - rough, bunkers.

I have tried a few different ones but keep going back to my TM Firesole 7W.  So easy to hit.  The only thing i found out is that normal grips dont fit on the bubble shaft.  I pretty much had to have my shop order a TM grip that fits on it.

Thanks everyone for your help. I went ahead and bought a Cleveland Launcher Steel 22* 7 wood. I figured for under 60 bucks I couldn't pass it up. It's brand new and comes with a brand new Cleveland Launcher head cover.

I play the F6 5-6  (non-baffler) with loft turned to 20 and weight in the back.  Basically a 7 wood.  Its a great club and can be had very cheap.

Ping G/G400 have a 7 wood. You won't find anything easier to hit off the deck than those.
