I am pretty sure I read somewhere once that his irons were 1" longer than standard....can anyone confirm that?

Thanks for the FG-17 pic, funnily enough I did have a 2-iron but I could only hit one shot with it,a low, hard running draw not far removed from a 'top' but handy on tight par 4's AND it looked good in the bag!Sometimes it was enough just to have it there as a psych-out weapon in matchplay but I was usually nipping too much to dare take it out LOL.
Thanks again for more great pics and a profound apology,I have had to play golf every day this week and have not posted the promised publication but will do so without fail in the morning.

Please may I ask which publication it was in and / or whether you could scan a copy of it on here especially if there are any photos present !?
Cheers and thanks again !

Hi...Great thread!! I've been a huge Nick fan since his Sea Pines Heritage win in 1984
The article came from a Golf Digest. I'm not sure which month. His age is listed as 37, so I came up with the published year based on that. Unfortunately, there are any pictures of the clubs. But, I'll scan it and post it here for you.
Golf Digest was doing a WITB, but called it Vital Statistics. I cut a bunch of them out and Nick's was one of them.

Played again yesterday & they are much more consistant than the 68's but I miss having Mizuno blades in honour of Sir Nick.
That impact position at the 17th St Andrews day 3 is stunning - what a photo. My Fav yet I think.
I had the Vid with Faldo & the juniors when I was a kid and never realised that was Kirsty G that whacked his leg.
Fine lookin lass now!

"I'd say the 3-iron to the 18th at Muirfield in the '92 Open. Took the paintwork off it. It was all about the takeaway. I can remember being so focused on getting the club past the first two or three feet and then it was all on automatic."
