Very interesting article and post Woodbridge clarifying a number of things, thank you very much for sharing as I have never come across an official 'What's In The Bag' article for Faldo around this date.

Please may I ask which publication it was in and / or whether you could scan a copy of it on here especially if there are any photos present !?

Cheers and thanks again ! :good:

Random thoughts really, like how simple the set make up is especially with the short irons, which I guess can only help with clarity of mind on shot selection and the fact that it's a 90 compression ball, might drop that into the conversation when I next play with a 19 handicapper pegging up a ProV1 (you must all have seen the same thing!).
Thanks for the FG-17 pic, funnily enough I did have a 2-iron but I could only hit one shot with it,a low, hard running draw not far removed from a 'top' but handy on tight par 4's AND it looked good in the bag!Sometimes it was enough just to have it there as a psych-out weapon in matchplay but I was usually nipping too much to dare take it out LOL.
Thanks again for more great pics and a profound apology,I have had to play golf every day this week and have not posted the promised publication but will do so without fail in the morning.

Hi...Great thread!! I've been a huge Nick fan since his Sea Pines Heritage win in 1984

The article came from a Golf Digest. I'm not sure which month. His age is listed as 37, so I came up with the published year based on that.  Unfortunately, there are any pictures of the clubs. But, I'll scan it and post it here for you.

Golf Digest was doing a WITB, but called it Vital Statistics. I cut a bunch of them out and Nick's was one of them.

LOL, I remember this from the Nick Faldo Junior Masterclass video which was filmed at Wentworth with the girl being the club pro Bernard Gallacher's daughter Kirsty who is now a television presenter.

According to this article his 5-iron length is 38.625" and the standard length TP-19 was 37.75" so that would make his irons 0.875" over standard or 7/8 in fraction.

More great pics mate. These blades are superb. I liked the comparison of the TP19's to the MP68's thanks as my last set where MP68's before trading to the more forgiving JPX800 Pro's.

Played again yesterday & they are much more consistant than the 68's but I miss having Mizuno blades in honour of Sir Nick.

That impact position at the 17th St Andrews day 3 is stunning - what a photo. My Fav yet I think.
I had the Vid with Faldo & the juniors when I was a kid and never realised that was Kirsty G that whacked his leg.
Fine lookin lass now!

Aaah, the delightful Ms Gallacher....NF's lessons forgotten by the sound of it as on one of his visits to the UK she had Tiger give her one...
Nice to see that you only need talent and hard work to get on in life.

In a recent interview Faldo was asked what his greatest shot was !?

"I'd say the 3-iron to the 18th at Muirfield in the '92 Open.  Took the paintwork off it.  It was all about the takeaway.  I can remember being so focused on getting the club past the first two or three feet and then it was all on automatic."
Here is a video of the 72nd hole at the 1992 British Open including 'that' 3-iron.
