Not been on here for ages but what a great thread.

Just back from Portugal and played the Faldo course which has to be my fave courses ever, we played of the tips and it was blowing, brutal.  Some great design with run offs and false fronts like I have never seen.  Stunning location and course spans a huge area, some great views.  If your near Faro you must play this course.

How much was it? Better than San Lorenzo? (an absolute gem)

They need to start being more realistic with the prices for rounds in Portugal, the economy is shagged but yet they still charge way over odds for golf, and the courses are deadly quiet.

Not sure exactly as it was part of a package but circa E130, cant compare to San Lorenzo as its the only 1 I havent played.  it was fairly busy when we were there so I guess things are picking up.....

Cool - good to hear the Faldo course is good, looking to play it this October with any luck.
Looking forward to the Masters, wish Nick was playing!

Masters fever building up,I just checked the website thinking how nice it would be to buy a couple of DVD's of our man NF winning but was sorry to see that their DVD selection runs from 1986 and Big Jack to Tiger in '97 with nothing in between.
I can only imagine it's because they've sold out of the really popular ones.

I played Welwyn Garden City GC a week ago. Interesting to see that  the club Championships winners board had a cetain N.Faldo MBE listed as winning in 74 and 75.

He was using the pings in 2002.  I watched him on the range at hazeltine for the PGA.  It was beautiful.

Would have to agree with this. Spain isn't much better either, albeit there are some decent package deals to be had.

I'm really looking forward to some new Faldo material!

On a humorous note Steve Elkington Tweet'd that Sir Nick had mentioned he'd been rolling his balls in the shower. I'm not sure the context but I hope he was talking about get used to Augusta lightning greens!

Otherwise things have gotten weird....

There's a photo knocking about of Ian Woosnam having a similar clonk; in his case on the snooker table at home in preparation for Augusta's lightning fast greens.

Can any of you historians be able to tell me what brand of irons Nick was playing when he won his majors?

I picked up a set of TP19s, 2-PW for $330.00 US. They are in good condition. I hit them once, they are really great. They will collect dust now, if anybody interested, let me know, I'd let them do crazy cheap.
