Our church participates in an annual fundraising event here, so it's our only chance to get on.  SWMBO and I managed 10 under with another couple but finished out of the money.  Perfect conditions, turf and weather!  Here's a few shots of the quarry holes (14 to 17)

Iíve played there once.

Those quarry holes are a blast.

I donít like heights and on the par 3, we played the tips. The tee markers were set like 2 yard from the edge. I was nervous and laid sod over it and sent my ball into the quarry. Very uncomfortable tee shot for me!

The par five I was able to get some redemption.  Got on the green in two and two putted for birdie.

It is a fun part of the course!

I've been fortunate to have played the Quarry and Ranch courses quite a few times. Access through a member/friend and made a few trips with couples and stayed in the villas. We enjoyed both courses and the quarry holes are quite spectacular. If you have someone to get you in you won't be disappointed. Course conditions were always good, staff very friendly and accomodating.

I did a few years ago. Our pro set it up. We rented a couple houses on a nearby golf course.  I forget which one.  It was pretty good. If I recall properly, there is not a ton to do nearby. But, my memory could be faulty.

What I do remember is that the Black Diamond course was in good condition. The quarry holes were awesome.  I just wish we had played it one more than once. That was the consensus of our groupó-we should have made more of an effort to rent at Black Diamond and replayed the course.

My wife and I played there last spring.  We got on through Boxgroove.

It was fantastic.  As noted, the quarry holes are amazing.  Unfortunately, the moment we stepped onto the first quarry hole my phone rang and it was my mother.  We had a huge wind storm at home and it ripped the door (12x18) off my shop.  There was nothing I could do until we got home a week later.  Put a damper on the day.

Luckily none of my tools or toys were missing when I got home.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Weíve gone to Kiawah the last couple years so nightlife really isnít a factor with our group. Actually looking for a place where we can grill our own steaks and hang out in a house together instead of eating out. I see that you all used pros to get on but looking at the Black Diamond website, it seems they do offer stay n play packages with rental houses.

Good news to hear the course is fun and in good shape. Itís definitely on the list for our next trip.
