Great jump from Patrick Reed after his Masters win!
Noren gets back in the team with a MC?

Tough call on the Euro side.

Fitzpatrick, Poulter, Stenson, Cabrera-Bello, Casey and Dunne for four spots.

A real mess on the US side after a very solid top 8: Kuchar, Tiger (#28 on points) and draw two names out of a hat.

swing is irrelevant, score is everything

just say NO.... to practice swings

In that case no doubts to leave Dunne and Fitz home

Definitely, and i would put Pieters name in there, Stenson, Cabrera bello and casey are in for me, so basically a choice between Poulter and Pieters depending who's playing the best.

Long way to go yet though

Stenson and Poulter will qualify on points. I am certain that both will do enough in the bigger tournaments over the summer to achieve that.
I have a feeling that Noren won't be able to win enough "World Points" on the PGA Tour in the end, if he continues to stay there. He is a guy who needs wins to get on a roll. He has had high finishes in the US so far, but these points will decrease quickly. But if he plays half decently in the summer, he will be a certain pick because of his personality, which is great for match play.
The other guy I see losing his automatic spot is Ross Fisher. But he is so unpredictable that he might well win at Wentworth, in which case he is in, of course.
Tyrrell Hatton and Tommy Fleetwood are my concerns. They already have so many points that they are very likely to be in. But both are so volatile that they might be big holes in the line-up come the Ryder Cup, because when they lose their form, they really lose it.

If I'm coaching the Americans, I would be thrilled to not face Hatton and Fleetwood in the RC.  Those two are world-class players.

Totally agree, when they are on.
Problem is, when they are off, they are really off. I have been following the European Tour religiously for years. Most of the time, I even watch Thursdays and Fridays. The worst thing that could happen to the European Team this year is Fleetwood and Hatton getting in early on points and then going into one of their slumps.
When Hatton is at his best, he is the European answer to Patrick Reed. Fleetwood can string birdies together like few players can, and I have been a fan of his ever since he first came up. That's why I know how much pulling for him can hurt, when he goes cold.
I see a gap. There definitely is a gap.

I watch European Tour on weekends there is no league soccer (international breaks), but otherwise, I have no idea what's going on with their tour. If he's really good, no one seems to talk about him, and if they are not on any of the things I am consuming as a golfer.

If he doesnít make the team on points and his game is in good shape, I think Kisner would be a solid pick. Good match play demeanor, great putter and quite a bit of success in the Presidents Cup and WGC match play.

I agree.  Kiz would be a great addition to the team.

I like the way the American team is shaping up, but I'd prefer to see it rounded out with youth instead of crusty veterans.  We need Berger and Schauffele to get hot.

I would say the youth outperformed their veteran counterparts at Hazeltine, but really Walker was the only weak link as Mickelson, Kuch, and ZJ put up good numbers and veteran leadership is always an X-factor that cannot be replicated by any number or quality of vice-captains.  It's a delicate balance no doubt, but I have to agree I'd rather see some fresher faces if they're hot coming out of the playoffs.

On an unrelated note, I see Koepka MC'd last week at Zurich, and despite being a team event/atypical format I can't help but worry about rust coming off the recovery.  Granted, I'm glad he gave plenty of time to heal and rehab but he's gonna need a lot of work the next few months if he wants to get close to where he was last year.

I'm sure everything will get sorted out this summer, it will definitely be exciting to watch.

hahaha, agreed😊

Also, back in the day, Sam, Lord Byron & the wee popsicle man were all Playing Captains. Unless theyíve changed something in the policy & procedure manual, I donít see a conflict at all.

Those Gents sure didnít😉

Have s great weekend Bro🍻

If DeChambeau notches a win this summer or gets hot in the playoffs it could be interesting, but as long as he's outside the top eight I don't think he has a shot.  I just don't see him as a Captain's pick, as his chops aren't impressive enough to offset his lack of intangibles.  Seems like he would be a tough personality to integrate... but that's just my take.
