I would say fake.  I looked at getting one off ebay and the seller said he was based in the US.  When you click on his feedback it changed his location to China.  Pretty much a dead giveaway he was selling fakes.  Tons of fake grips for sale on their

If it was purchased on Ebay, it's probably a fake, unless it was purchased through a reputable company's Ebay site.  There are tons of threads on here about fake grips of all kinds being sold there.  It's just not worth saving the few bucks.

Thanks for the input! The grip really looks good. But 5 g off is not possible for a authentic grip. Payed with Paypal, so at least no loss for me

Do you have an authentic one you could compare it to? I would love to see side by side to see if anything else is off.  Thanks for sharing

There had been so many counterfeit golf grips on the eBay in the last few years which is not funny.   Why wouldn't the OEM do something about this ?  Shut them down, maybe ?   Go after their bank account ?

One of the guy came to me to ask why his new GP  CP2 Pro were twisting .  I looked at it, the grips were lighter and thinner, a dead giveaway of being a counterfeit .  Originally he used air to installed the grip so we tried to remedy the problem by building up the grip a little then use the double sided grip tape to try to make the grip stable on the shaft...... No dice.   Had to install new grips for him.
He said he bought these on the eBay from a seller based in China, whom claim the grips were authentic......

For some reason the weight of the counterfeits were almost always lighter then the authentic and the material used in the compound will stretch over time.

It's all cost. They are trying to make as much money as possible. If they use less material, they can get 8 fake grips instead of 7 fake grips using the same amount of material as the authentic. It also has to do with the density of the compound used. They use subpar materials, and try to minimize the use of the materials as much as possible.

So here are a two more pictures of the packaging. The response from the eBay seller was more than weird. He‘s definitly not a golfer but i‘m sure he knows that he is selling fakes ....

My fake SS 3.0 came stuffed in an envelope and folded in half. Yours is at least believable. I bought it before I even thought that a 20.00 grip would be fake. It seems to play ok but knowing what I know know, there's no way it's legit. All the red flags listed on here are there for it. Chief among them was the fact that it was 9.00 all in and shipped from China. I have a legit one on a similar putter and I can't tell the difference, in feel, look, and durability. It is about 10 grams lighter than the legitimate one. Once I found out it was probably fake I pulled them and weighed them. Otherwise they're one and the same to me. It was too late to get my 9.00 back so I shrugged my shoulders and put it back on. Maybe in a couple years it'll be apparent when the real one is still chugging along and the fake one is worn out. For now though I couldn't tell the difference.

If it wasn't a cushioned grip on a putter, I'm sure it would be more pronounced. I prefer Velvet grips on irons and Winn Dri Tac on woods. It'd be a lot more difficult to duplicate their performance. Also much less cost effective. I usually buy these for around 5.00 each, I'm a deal shopper. Not much margin to be made there for a counterfeiter from me.

I have purchased a couple of SS pistol GTR grips off ebay and they always came in a plastic see through tube.

I'm gonna go against the school here say it's real. Have you weighed a bunch of grips? Not surprised to see a 5g difference, in the least. A little paranoia is a good thing, but good gawd, it's a grip for cripes sake.

Agree with above that 5 grams is not alarming.  Could be combination of your scale and manufacturing tolerance.

But don't buy grips on ebay!!!
