Here are the head and shaft combinations I hit on Rogue irons family at the St. Louis Golf Expo this past weekend:

Rogue irons.jpg

I hit Rogue X as iron for GolfTEC swing analysis at Expo. Club had the proprietary KBS Max 90 shaft - strange looking with blue label without a hint of KBS red. Club just felt too light - would need to try it with heavier shaft to really judge it.

Overall: if going Rogue line would test the Rogue Pro with XP105 and XP105-ST in S300 and R300.

XP95-ST felt good and very lively, while XP105-ST felt lively and really solid. This was a bit confusing, as I gave up stiff for regular almost 10 years ago.

For a full fitting, the Calla rep recommended a “gap analysis” to see if I would have a distance fall-off in the 4i and 5i. If so, two possible options: Go all Pro heads, and softstep the 4i and 5i; or go Pro for 6i-PW, but put in standard Rogue head for 4i and 5i.

The PX LZ 105 shaft seems to be a bit much – the same feel that had me reshaft my X20 Tours from even heavier PX 5.0 to NS Pro.

Note: My remarks are based strictly on feel and eyesighted launch patterns. None of the hitting stations had launch monitors.

Did hit anything, but the expo was interesting. I would think the XP 105 would make sense for a vast majority. that 100 or so weight range works well for people.

I hit Rogue Pro at that STL Golf Expo last Friday. I know the Cally rep, Dave K for several years, he knows his stuff. I hit Rogue driver and Rogue Pro irons from my club pro's fitting cart yesterday. I think I like the driver but don't know about Rogue Pro irons yet cause I would like to hit short and long irons before I determine my choices for this season.

They do remind me of old Callaway X-Tours that I had good success with.
