Wow, I wonder if Matrix will stay in business now that Tiger is using their shafts again? Maybe they can slow down the chapter 11 process juuust a bit longer. :)

I actually just read on Twitter that Wayne Gretzky might buy Matrix and DJ and Tiger will be playing them. Would love to hear more about that!

Would be hard to see DJ giving up the speeder in the driver. If tiger doesn't play matrix I suspect he will go back to Tour AD. DI or IZ.

Psh they'll just repaint the Speeder with Matrix logos. Wouldn't be much different than what Fujikura is doing now for him.

Very solid looking photos. Perhaps a few small tweaks to shaft might help his mental game after the driving display at Farmers.

Tiger low key has one of the best bags on tour. Gonna hate to see if/when those TGR blades and VR forged wedges go.

Probably so. If I recall I think his grip was like that when he was tweaking the m2 and his m1 fairways

Tiger from today:

Woods, who tees off at 10:22 a.m. Eastern on Thursday with Justin Thomas and Rory McIlroy, returned to a Matrix Ozik TP7HDe X-flex shaft that he last used in the 2015 Wyndham Championship.

“We could all see how bad I was driving it,” Woods said Tuesday in a news conference from Riviera Country Club, where he is playing for the first time since 2006.

The more “stout” shaft is also complemented by a driver head change adding nearly a degree of loft to his TaylorMade M3.

“It’s a shaft that I knew from years past, so when I picked it up again … I know how it feels and now how it performs,” Woods said. “I drove it great at Wyndham that year, and so that’s about it.”

Woods returned to golf last December using a TaylorMade M2 driver featuring Mitsubishi’s Tensei CK Pro White 70TX, before shifting to a 44-inch M3 at Torrey Pines featuring the same Tensei shaft.

Tiger went into greater detail for those wanting a deeper explanation, including a little lingo for “bend.”

“Because it’s more stout, it doesn’t have much play,” Woods said. “I needed a little more loft, so I added a degree of loft on it. With the new head and one more degree, I found that I could then take off a quarter of a degree. Quite frankly, it’s three-quarters degrees more loft than what I used at Torrey, but it’s spinning the correct amount now.”

Tiger singled handily trying to bring Matrix back from the depths of bankruptcy!!!!!

There is no way in hell the TP6HDe is more "Stout" than a 1.5" Tipped CK Pro White 70TX.

IDK what he is talking about maybe he should go back to the M2/Tensei combo he crushed a month ago.

was he tweaking with driver setting on the range?? I don't recall he plays with the grip logo on the side ever.

Maybe the TP7HDe is tipped also and possibly the TP7HDe has a firmer feel throughout instead of a softer butt end like the pro white. I don’t know for certain since I’ve never looked into the matrix

He will have the p730's before long.
And yes the matrix shafts play stiffer than most all shafts.
