It's a shame. Fantastic ball. Longest I've ever hit were the 2016 yellows. Good spin off driver and wedges.
I think the price point vs marketing have made them an odd duck. Nobody wants to pay nearly pro-v money for a ball that isn't deep in their subconscious.

I think it's the price point too, here in Europe they're priced about $10 US more a dozen than the ProV1...other than that it's a decent ball that compares well to any of the other urethane covered pro line balls.

I thought when they first came out round 2011 ( 3 piece), stateside they were at about $33dz. Now I see them for $44 + on line and it's a 4 piece.
Are there many in play across the pond?
If they were priced around 35-38$ US, they'd do well, I think.

They're in the stores here but, in 7 years I've never come across anyone that was playing them or found any on the course. I've purchased them to try them out but have never gone back to them after I've gone through the dozen  just because of the price.

The latest model is only available at Wilson online and pro shops w/Wilson reps.  I'll go out of my way to get them (at the right price) and stock up.  Probably my favorite ball ever.

I picked some up off of Rock Bottom at the end of last year.  Can't say what year they were but they came in a black/carbon and gold box.  I felt like they were just "meh" reminded me a lot of an NXT Tour S.  Good ball but didn't really do anything to blow me away.  This was after switching between Chrome Soft and TP5 all summer. There was a noticeable click off of wedges and even the putter which really surprised me for a Wilson ball.  The Duo is still one of my favorite balls to play in poor conditions.

They screwed around with them too much, I think. First a three piece, then a 4.
The ones 2 years ago were pretty firm feeling, which surprised me, since what I had before were soft.
Picked up 2 sleeves of the recent version and they feel soft again. Will play it this week and see how they do.

I played them a few years ago to see how they compete to other premium golf balls out there as part of my job. I loved the feel and thought they had a softer feel than any other tour golf ball I tried. Maybe they were a few yards shorter but boy they were accurate and spun around the greens super well. Off the putter, they felt like butter (see what I did there?). My biggest pet peeve was that they would yellow quite quickly. Not sure what the cause was for it but really frustrating to take a ball out of play after 4 holes because it's not cut but because it just doesn't look clean.

they are a great ball.  soft off the club, good distance but not the longest tour ball you will find, fabulous around the green and off the putter.  in Australia I can buy two dozen for $90.  Pro-Vs are around $75-$80 a dozen!!!  FG Tours are a good value tour ball in Australia if you can find them.

I like the ball, but they are priced aggressively.  Same price here as the Pro V's.   You are never going to gain marketshare with that business model.  No club carries them and the big box stores don't have them.  Even when we still had a Goldsmith, they didn't carry the WS premium balls.

I don't find a lick of difference in distance between the FG Tour and any other premium ball.  I do see lower ball flight, so that may rob a few yards from some golfers.

Best spinning ball I have ever tested 125 and in. But I found it to be significantly shorter than any other current premium ball.
