GolfWRX is live this week from the 2018 Genesis Open at Riviera CC (par 71: 7,322 yards) in Pacific Palisades, California.

The field is packed with some of the best players in the world, including Dustin Johnson, currently No. 1 in the Official World Golf Rankings, Jordan Spieth (No. 3), Justin Thomas (No. 4) and Rory McIlroy (No. 10). Other notables include Phil Mickelson, Adam Scott, Bubba Watson and of course, tournament host Tiger Woods.

Last year, Dustin Johnson cruised to a five-stroke victory over Thomas Pieters and Scott Brown, helping launch DJ into the No. 1 ranking that he still holds today.

Check out our photos below from the 2018 Genesis Open!

Why didn't Cameron release these models with the insert which doesn't go fully to the top of the putter face to the public? You can see the insert goes to the top line in the retail versions, whereas these tour putter inserts don't quite make it all the way to the topline.

Really dislike seeing the insert as address in photos as much as the retail models do have. I haven't seen the retail versions in person, but it would appear from photos that the insert is in fact visible as a cut through into the topline.

The size of the insert is the same for both tour and non tour putters.

Nice to see that JB Holmes is in the field.

Thought he might still be pulling a club from the last tournament.

I initially thought the same thing but he wouldn’t be caught dead with TM drivers in his bag.

Good info.

BTW - Aldila has quite possibly the worst marketing department of any company on earth. Their recent lack of consistency amongst product offering and branding perspective delivers a very "Low-End" and "Unsophisticated" message to consumers. I imagine they're getting absolutely destroyed at market by Project X and MRC.

I mean...
- What happened to the Xtorsion line that appeared to be the next big thing?
- The Synergy came out of nowhere, with a new name and graphic scheme that doesn't fit their brand
- They haven't pushed a full line shaft offering since the RIP series
- They constantly turn out "new shafts" for OEM's and then the offering disappears (Rogue MAX, RIP I/O)
- The NV2K series is just kind of out there and floating around with no marketing push - and it's getting good play on tour.
- The Rogue Elite thing is just stupid. Why have three "special" shafts for club fitters when they can fit golfers with your regular shaft offerings?
- They can't clearly communicate their current "Premium" shaft line... is it Rogue, Synergy, Xtorsion, NV2K? If Synergy is the new line then bring out Synergy Blue, Green, Orange, and Black and get rid of the other shafts.
- Lets not even start on the issues with their website

I could go on for days.

Aldila's website is terrible especially when compared to MRC. They have all specs, info, El curve graphs, comparisons to other shafts in that line, etc.

I like how Vijay is using the PivotPro to tighten up his swing.  Always amazes me that pros use the training aids that we all use. Always seemed to me that they already had great swings but I guess they need to tighten up their swings every so often and correct minor (major in my case) issues.  Great to see.

Need the info on the rogue shaft Attachment IMG_1518489848.755832.jpg

Looks like maybe an update to the Rogue Pro Iron Shafts. Heavier weight option and slightly different graphics...???

No, it's a new wood shaft. Rogue Platinum 130.

Haha this is pretty spot on. I've always said they make the best shafts nobody knows about.

This...

I love mine but you don't really hear about them, always remember my friend had a TM TP11 rescue with a RIP Phenom in, that shaft looked cool as hell

Patiently waiting to see if Tiger has some TW Protos in the bag tomorrow...
Not sure if I missed it somewhere else, but I doubt it.  Seems like Tiger rarely ever changes his equipment.  That Tensei Pro White didn't last very long in his bag either, went right back to his shaft from years ago.

I like how Vijay is using the PivotPro to tighten up his swing.  Always amazes me that pros use the training aids that we all use. Always seemed to me that they already had great swings but I guess they need to tighten up their swings every so often and correct minor (major in my case) issues.  Great to see.
No matter how good you are, you can develop a bit of a flaw here or there.  That's why it's amazing to me that Tiger's "slumps" back in the day were still so good.  I can't imagine how a human could be so consistent.
