Good afternoon,

I've been playing the Nike covert 2.0 irons for the past 4 years. I'm a 15 handicap and have a ss of 85-95 with my irons. I'm looking for a cast iron that has a thinner topline, but will still allow for the forgiveness. I've hit the 718 AP1 and AP3/Taylormade M1/M2/790 and the Mizuno hot metal. I like the AP1 the best, but still want to hit the F8 and M3/M4 irons.

I'm also looking for some suggestions for shaft in my irons. I'm used to playing DGS300, which is a little heavier shaft, which I prefer. I'm looking for a mid ball flight.

Need suggestions on both irons and shafts. I know most of you are going to suggest getting fitted, which I will probably do, but also want to narrow it down to a handful of irons and shaft combo's.

Thanks for the feedback

Nippon Modus 120s. Good weight and smooth.  Mizuno Tour Forged 900's have a thin topline and have great feel. Take a look at those instead of the hot metals 😀

Definitely second the modus 105s. I have them in stiff and they are super smooth but not whippy. Incredible feel too.

The new cobra mb/cbs. Looking to try the modus or gold line. The KBS are fun but there are more options out there and why not experiment

If you like the S300, give the AMT a try; it won’t be as tiresome and helpful in the longer irons.

S300 will be the lowest launching and lowest spin.

I have played the Modus and KBS, I prefer the Modus more for feel. Both are mid launch and mid spin.

Your just going to have to hit them all and see what’s best for you results wise and feel wise.

As much as I wanted the Modus, the AMT gave me the best and most consistent result at the price of lower feel.

105 might be too light.

OP prefers a heavier weight so 120 may be better for feel and results.

In all honesty I wouldn't purchase irons or decide on a shaft from a internet forum. Go get fit by a reputable fitter.
