Starting a thread as I'll be volunteering this week (media...whatever that entails)...my son goes to school next door, so it gives me the added bonus of being able to park there too!

Looks like we'll have some sunny weather all four days in the 60s...course should be playing firm and fast.

I'd imagine DJ is a really heavy favorite, followed by Day.  I think TW will miss cut after shooting 74-75...can't score from the eucalyptus trees, and you're giving up too much by hitting irons/fairway woods off the tee.  Rose should be in the mix as well.

As for longshots, maybe Bubba will emerge from his slump?

Tiger will be an interesting watch this week.  You can get away with a little wildness at Torrey Pines, provided you're wild to the proper side.  Not at Riviera.

It has been a while since Tiger competed at Riviera, and that grass will be a bit problematic.  I think it's more likely that he misses the cut than finish top 25.

Should be a great show, however.  Very good field on a legendary course with great weather.  Let's hope for a star-studded leaderboard.

Tiger alluded to this himself but in order to keep the ball in play could this week be the return of the stinger??

Will the real Adam Scott please stand up ? Or should I say make some putts, ball striking stats were pretty good last week but when your SGP is in the negative....your probably missing the cut.

What makes you think he has been working on things successfully?

Nobody knows, and everyone is just guessing, but until he proves otherwise, he still stinks off the tee.

To be fair with no practice it's kind of hard to be much worse off the tee.  He set the bar pretty low at Torrey

The 4w helped me get 5 eagles this past year, it would help Tiger to follow my example. It's his only chance at making the cut.

I'm definitely thinking Tiger makes the cut.

This may be wishful thinking, but I think the biggest thing his surgery has done is restore his ability to grind. We just need to see if he can elevate his game again beyond making cuts.

This course seems to produce a wide variety of winners with different styles. I love that. I am hoping for a complete Tiger comeback as much as anyone but with all the treelined fairways here it doesnít seems to be as favorable to his game. Euros are going to be a big presence in this one. If Iím going with my heart Iím picking Phil, he has been playing as solid as anyone and would be nice to see him get a win on the west coast.  So Phil it is but watch out for Thomas Pieters.
