So for Canadian sellers here that might help me. On eBay when I sell a product in usd, usd dollars go to my paypal account and I am able to purchase from that usd amount . Not so here apparently. I sold an item for 375.00. The buyer sent that amount in usd but PayPal auto converted to cad and then from that converted again to usd for a usd balance for me to draw on. Now I have no problem with them taking their fee but after their fee and double conversion I was out 27 extra usd ie. 338usd in my account rather than approx. 365.00 after them taking their fee. Is there anyway around this? It seems to me there is really no advantage to me selling on wrx cuz after me also paying shipping which I would charge on eBay....well I might as well sell on the bay as I donít gain anything monetarily it seems selling here  On wrx. And donít get me wrong Iíd rather stay here but......see above rant.

As a seller, to avoid the usd automatically converting to CAD, I always send a money request in USD.  Thatís the only way to receive USD.

We went through several emails yesterday and he assured me he sent in usd. This is the first time this has happened to me but from googling PayPal forums this is a recent problem. Paranoid me is wondering if eBay is in kahoots with PayPal to keep foreigners selling only on their site. It certainly does not happen there nor should it anywhere else for that matter. Extortion or Akin to loansharking to me. The buyer has a terrific feedback rating here so I think this is on PayPal and it stinks. All I am asking is if other Canadian sellers have a way around this. Thanks for listening.

Sorry if I was unclear.

If you as a seller give the buyer your email address, and the buyer send you the funds to your PayPal, then itís automatically converted.

But if you as the seller, send the buyer a money request to his email address, then the funds will be received in USD

Iím in Canada and this is the workaround that avoids the FX conversion so I keep my funds from my sales in UsD for more hoing

Wow, really? Is it really as easy as that? I went to several pp community forums on this and there were so many concocted work arounds ie. get a u.s. bank then reroute funds, well it seemed hardly worth the trouble. And the common consensus on all these pp threads was that the problem was fairly recent. But hey if this works thanks a bunch....worth losing the approx. 25 bucks for this info.
