009M is a highly precise machine made 009 (i.e. nothing done by hand) that Cameron supposedly has said is "perfect" every time.

I hadn't actually seen the Timeless before but based on a quick image search it appears that a Timeless is to a Newport 2 what a 009 is to a Newport.  If you aren't sure about the difference between a Newport 2 and a Newport that is easy to find via a google search.

Do you know what exactly the difference is between timeless and newport 2 and 009 and newport? They look pretty similar

It depends on which Newport and Newport 2 you're talking about, and which 009 and Timeless you're talking about (SS or GSS), but I'd say an "average" difference between a new Newport and Newport 2 and a new SS 009 and Timeless is about 3500.00..........not counting tax.  ;)

im referring to the head shape, feel, etc more than price. Timeless looks to be the tour version of newport 2 and 009 loooks to be your version of Newport. Was wondering if there were more differences than what meets the eye.

If you buy a OTR Newport or Newport 2, you're buying a putter with an insert.  You won't find that on a tour putter :taunt:

What about Super Rats 1&2 or the T10 Buttonback???

009 is basically a Newport with a wider, more "defined" cavity and bumper. Also, the shoulders are deeper, making the back part of the flange narrower. The original 009 was buffed and hand-finished to achieve the smooth edges and classic shape, whereas the 009M is a fully machined head. Apparently his new CNC mills have more capability to achieve the desired shape, so the 009M is the result of that, however I still find it to be chunky looking compared to the hand softened originals. As for the Timeless, it's sort of a super softened version of the NP2 with a slightly taller topline. Some of the GSS versions look a little different though, super thin flange and thicker bumpers. Don't know where this actually falls in the discussion. Hope this helps. Once you look at enough you'll start noticing the subtleties.

Lastly, the older newports like the classics and milspecs seem to be much closer to the 009 shape than the Selects of recent. That being said, the newer Newport 2 Selects seem much closer to the timeless shape than the older NP2's. Oddly, the older NP2 shape is very close to the Scotty TW uses.(i.e. Studio Stainless NP2)
