Went down to tampa for a few days and I ended up playing Streamsong red and black, Pine Barrens, and TPC... Streamsong was great as always. First time on Black, very interesting. I liked it a lot. Very different, like nothing I have ever played before. Not a course you could play every day, but something you have to try. It kind of reminds me of Wolf Creek. Not the course, but the feeling towards playing there. It is an awesome place, but it isn't your typical course that you can go out and play everyday. You get beat up, the greens were as advertised. I wasn't turned off by them though, they are hard, I knew that going in, but most importantly it was fun. Loved red as always, great course...Blue is my favorite. Pine Barrens was AWESOME. One of the coolest underrated courses I have played. Very appealing, awesome practice area, everything was good. TPC is garbage, and wouldn't play it if it were only $50. Greens were good, but has to be one of the most overpriced courses I have ever played. I live in chicago and it wouldn't be top 15/20 in public courses here. Joke that is cost what it does.

A long time ago I lived and worked near World Woods (won't find many people who can say that) and it was just fabulous to go to that range a few days a week and play the courses year-round. I've heard mixed reviews about the conditioning over the years but I'm glad you loved it.

Yeah, TPC Tampa Bay thinks it's far more special than it is.

Pine Barrens has been my favorite course in Florida so far, I enjoyed it more than TPC Sawgrass even, although the price probably played into that. I still need to get to streaming one of these days, it's on my to do list.

I could see Streamsong in the summer (I don't mind heat) but with the value that World Woods offers I just can't pony up for Streamsong during peak season (and I don't think they take singles in peak season anyway).

I haven't played Sawgrass, so I can't compare. But I would put WW PB in my top 10/15 courses I have played. I just liked the feel of the place. I think a lot of that has to do with playing streamsong the day before and needing a break from completely grinding out rounds and missing putts haha.

Pine Barrens is a blast, played it yesterday.  Conditions were far better then I was expecting as I heard rumors it had gone downhill, not the case.

both pine barrens and rolling oaks at ww are among two of favorite courses anywhere.  i've played there several times over the years and my last visit (dec 2016) the overall  conditions were not of the standard of previous years.  the greens were in fair/poor  shape rolling about a 6/7.  i've been hearing the same thing thru the coconut telegraph over the last year.  great news to hear the conditions are on an upswing.  if your ever in the same area, try to get on the (semi private) black diamond ranch quarry course.  another fazio masterpiece

I had no problems with the conditions at all. Greens were  alittle slower compared to streamsong but not bad and that was expected. I had no complaints.
