1. Nick Faldo & David Feherty

2. How competitive every tournament has been, we rarely see blowouts anymore. Playoffs the past 4 weeks.

3. Spieth yelling “JORDAN!!” after every other shot

Not sure this is an original thread but who cares? This is tough because as a lifelong fan and player, my interest has been at an all time low the last 5 years or so. Maybe this board is one of the few things keeping me interested?  Phil and Tiger are a big reason I havent totally left the sport. But I am starting to enjoy Rickie, that is a good sign that might keep me around longer. I know Im easily bored with the techie side, all the new equipment and gadgetry. ....My good friends joined a very nice CC yesterday. Course looks well kept and challenging. At one time I would have envied them but I dont now. In fact it seems like a waste of money. To me anyway. But back to the positives I just dont know other than the personalities mentioned. If I make it out to Hou Open I may chime in with an update. I hope that doesnt sound too negative. Im not bitter or anything about the game. Its more I have other interests. I am looking forward to the majors, esp the British Ooen, which has become my favorite when it had always been The Masters. People and times change.

Shot tracer
Super slow Mo....except the “Konica Minolta BizHub” part
Putting camera angles
Featured groups on the app

I could go on and on but golf coverage is so freaking good compared to the gold old days...
Trust me, it kinda sucked in the old days

I love shot tracer.  Especially when they overlay a bunch of shots.  I do however wish that they would get more camera angles from lower and a little further back from the golfer so that you can actually see the ball fly to it's apex.  They do this a lot on the European tour and I love it.  Especially when someone is slinging in a wedge.

I prefer actually seeing the ball much more than shot tracer.

Watching golf in HD has really been a boost for coverage. I think its had the most positive impact on golf compared to other sports.

I agree with most of the above.  HD has made a huge difference.  Pro tracer is great.

Sometimes I will watch older coverage in a youtube video and realize just how far it has come.

Despite what you see on here from all the people who think golf is 'unwatchable' the overall golf television experience has increased dramatically in the past 5 years.

HD becoming commonplace, Shot Tracer everywhere along with the high speed cameras are at the top of the list.

I agree with the lower angles to be able to see more of the ball flight. I really like when they have the overlay on the side like what CBS did this past week when you can see both the shot tracer and the ball flight with the lower, wider angles. Love watching the Euro Tour just for those things as they get that very, very right as well as not droning on incessantly through the broadcast.

I love that most every tournament has a chance to go to a playoff.  I love watching two or three guys fighting down the stretch and making clutch shots under pressure.  I actually like it better when I dont have a favorite and I can purely enjoy it.

Along with HD video and Shot Tracer we enjoy now, I expect drones, which are employed to some degree now, to take a more active role, like Skycam in football.

Conversely, I do miss the old days when commentators whispered the play by play from the galleries (they had to, as they were close to the players, holding corded mics).

Love me some statistics. Also love the shot tracer, and how almost every course is 3d mapped down to the inch of break. Also like how fit most of the guys are (gals too), it's an inspiration. I know, Gary Player and all that, but I think improving fitness and strength to play better golf longer is an idea that is taking hold more solidly thanks to the modern pro game.

Ill be in the minority.  Weve got more Faldo.  More McCord. And I love it.  Miss feherty this time of year.

Love shot tracer and love the HD coverage.  And especialy Love dvr.  I can pass right through anyone I dont care to watch.

Things I miss ...,well struck long irons.   Drivers that dont go into orbit.  Seeing someone hit a low drawing 8 iron from 145 out to get at a back left pin.  Ill stop here.  No need to incite a riot.

Euro and Asian tour coverage that has the slow mos, the shot tracers, the hole by hole flyovers, but doesn't have the incessant leaderboards, talking heads, Snoopy fecking 2 etc interspersed between the odd 2 foot putt.

PGA Tour coverage may have advanced technologically, and it clearly has the best players, but as coverage of a sporting event rather than a sponsorship whore fest, it fails on every count.

I don't mind McCord.

I prefer the flight of the actual ball. Shot tracer seems gimmicky to me.

I like the way the European golf coverage shows more shots from more people, not just select players.

I like the quality of the elite players right now.

I like to see Tiger golf, I don't like the non stop talk from the talking heads. (We get it!)

I love the West Coast swing.

HD was the best thing that happened to golf on TV.

Actually, as long as you have it DVR'd, the Quantity of golf available that's now broadcast (sans ads) is what's been the most significant improvement.
