Andy North

Yeah, only won two U.S. Opens, what a hack.

People just don't really get the significance of that accomplishment.

Then again, my yard is teeming with snowflakes.

"to win a major". try reading.

Now he didn't even win, lol?

He is class personified. Genuine and nice - lesson there.

Does anyone feel a sense of dissapointment when a lower ranked middle age golfer wins a major, especially when they beat one of the worlds best. Most of these guys are really solid and have great stories but when they beat an establshed superstar or a fast up and comer I am usually left dissapointed. I think this happens less at the Masters due to the smaller field but still does happen.

Not so much. Lowest score deserves the win!

Funny listening to someone on GC basically apologizing for Potter this morning - "Tour needs its stars to win" - I disagree.

One of my worst moments was when Larry Mize went into a playoff with Steve and Greg Norman for the Masters. In addition to liking Norman and Seve so much more than Mize I had also bet on both of them to win that year. So Seve gets eliminated on 10 but Iím still feeling ok. Than that crazy pitch shot. I can still see it rolling across the green. Plop right in the hole and plop goes my stomach on so many levels.

Depends. If they beat one of my favorites, like Phil, and I donít have many favorites, then yes. For up and comers no, in fact I generally root for them. But a big reason is because of how the media often promotes the up and comer as the next great thing. I just hate that and I know it tends to turn me off of the young guy and thatís not really his fault.
