Probably just crowd control.

Maybe its a study to see if people come out for the pros or Hollywood? So I say avoid Hollywood and follow the big name pros.

They mention that a lot of the pairings are a result of endorsements and other business/personal relationships that develop over the years.
Obviously in the case of DJ and Rory it's very personal, lol

"I don't agree 100% with your analysis.  Yes, it's nice to hole out, which I did twice during last weeks game, but didn't need either to win those holes or the match.   All that was needed was a tap in to win each hole.  Of course, I was aiming from 20yds and 15yds with the intent to put the ball in the hole, but the expectation was tap-ins." I used to love going to this tournament every year, but going to Pebble on Saturday, especially when the weather is nice, is just too much.  Huge crowds, hard to see and get around.  Much better to try and go on a Thursday or Friday.

Today was an awesome day at the AT&T. I was back out at Spyglass due to all the celebrities being at Pebble. I was standing between the 5th tee and 1st green when John Rahm comes charging down the first hole with his caddie and swing coach. There was about 5 of us that followed him, I got some great video and a selfie with him on the 4th hole. He was a great guy, very personable and a little cocky. When we finished the front nine I walked over to the Pro Shoo to see if any other top golfers were teeing off and I ran right into Dustin Johnson. He was nice enough to do a selfie with me and than was just hanging out sitting on the trunk bed of his car eating some lunch.
I ran into some autograph seekers and it was interesting to hear their stories. I am fine with autograph seekers but not a big fan of ebayers who donít respect the golfer or celebrity. Thatís who these guys were. They said Aaron Rodgers would not sign any of their stuff no matter how many times they asked.  They said Jason Day was great but someone stopped him from signing multiple items so they were upset with that guy.
Another great day with great weather. Tomorrow the real action starts. Canít wait.

The pro autograph guys are scum of the earth. I laugh every time the pros go right by their outstretched little hands.

Don't know the format, course rotation, how pros and ams get matched up, never heard of Jerry Kellly?

You showed up a month early and too far north for the Indian Wells tennis.

I really hope the coverage is watchable. The last time I tried to watch I ended up turning it off after getting tired of watching tons people I don't know hacking it around or acting like idiots followed by the occasional tour player and a generous helping of commercials.

Looking forward to this. I will be down there everyday starting tomorrow. Looks like great weather. DJ, Spieth, Rahm, McIlroy, Day. This will be an awesome week. Just hope it lives up to expectations. Have a great day!

Great field and great golf course.  I hate watching the yahoos trying to act funny.   I wish TiVo had a "yahoo filter" to skip over footage of Murray and the other amateurs.

At least I can fast forward and get them out of the way quickly.   But then that only leaves a few minutes to watch the pros.

That's why I TiVo the broadcast and apply a heavy hand to the fast forward button.

You must be new to golf if you don't know Jerry Kelly and Ken Duke.  They have been around for many years.

Less Chris Berman this year please.  Not really a fan.  Tragic that his wife was killed in a car accident last year though.

I was pleasantly surprised last year to see that Timberlake and Kenny G both have some serious game.  That was pretty cool to watch.  They both seemed great with the gallery too.

The good news is that Chris Berman is not playing this year.  I have nothing against Chris Berman.  It is his golf swing that I can't stand.
On Sundays, I used to play hickory
