I've fallen out with my 917F2 and had a hit of a Rogue SZ 3 Wood with Evenflow and the Rogue 4 Wood with SYNERGY Shaft today

Absolutely love the feel of the Evenflow shaft but herein lies my dilemma....

I don't want a "long" 3 Wood so main concern is that the SZ would be too long so I was contemplating the standard head in the 4 Wood with the Evenflow plus it would be more forgiving

Problem is nowhere has this to try and anywhere that has the standard head in the Evenflow only has it in 13.5'

Gotta say though, the Rogue feels sounds and most importantly looks amazing!!

I'm sure it'll be fine but It's gonna take a lot to unseat my Epic 3w w/ and Atmos Black Shaft. That thing looks and feels amazing and just goes forever.

My rogue 15 sz arrived this week and got a chance to try it at the range.  I got the even flow black 75 6.5 shaft.  Was seeing a very consistent mid flight.  I hit shots off both the tee and the grass, and it performed similar both ways.  Was difficult to tell distance wise, but I hit a few off the toe and I didn't notice a big loss in distance.  Toe shots were noticeable, but still felt nice.  For sound, it had a nice muted sound, almost as if it was coming off dead.  I'm sure it will only be better with non-range golf balls.  From what I noticed with mishits, they seemed to be much more forgiving then my TM M2 tour, which is what I was looking for.  Bad swings were just not as punished as the M2 tour.

So I had the 2016 TM M2 and the 2017 M2 tour and best way I can put it is that the Callaway rogue sz is more forgiving then the 2016 M2 and seems to be lower spin then the 2017 M2 tour.  So even though I've played TM fairway woods the last few years, the rogue sz is a combination of both ad better then both.

I have not tried the M3 or M4 at this point, but don't even care to.

I heard the Even Flow Black shafts are currently on backorder right now. Can anyone confirm this?

Anyone think about the 5 wood?  It's close to a 4 wood.

Let me re-write this post.  I normally play a 4 wood.  Callaway offers a a 17 degree 4 wood in the normal Rogue line, but only offers a 15 degree 3 wood or 18 degree 5 wood in the Sub Zero line.

I think I would be interested in the a sub Zero 5 wood.

Would love to hear anybody's thoughts on the 5w as well. I've played 3HL/4w for a while now, and usually a 3w creates distance gaps and causes more problems than helps. Somewhat torn between the standard 4w and the SZ 5w.

Thinking the same here.

I've got the sz 15 and 18 degree. Works wonders for me, i have the 15 set to -1 and D on the adapter so the face angle looks normal, and the heavy weight forward. In the 18 i have it set +1 and neutral with heavy weight back. Helps me separate the distances by 15-20m, and the flights are perfect now for respective clubs. 18 gives delicate high soft floaters and the 15 has a real penetrating rocket flight. I'm loving both of them now, they kicked the old favourite u65 2 iron out of the bag in short order

Edit: woops i was referring to my epic fairways, i misread the post...

Hit the SZ 3 wood in the eve flow yesterday again but could still only hit the normal head in the Synergy

Was crushing the SZ but was concerned I’d hit it too far so ended up ordering the 3W in the normal head with the evenflow

Now I’m having second thoughts as my bad shot is left and concerned the normal head will be more left bias

Tempted to change my order for the SZ but also concerned I’d give up forgiveness

Definitely why I went with 15 degree and not 13.5.  With some of the fairways now the 15 degree go so far it creeps on driver territory so you almost need to order a 4 or 5 wood.  With the 15 degree you get a little more launch, but no problems with any distance.

I had a chance to try my Rogue sub zero 15 degree (43", HZRDUS Yellow 80x) fairway this weekend after a slew of bad weather. I'm coming from a Tour Edge Exotics CB5 (42.5", Diamana Ilima 80x), which from the top down looks much bulkier than the Rogue. First impressions: The sub zero head frames the ball nicely both from turf and tee. I opted to hit a lot of tee shots with it, because it looks very easy to hit with the ball tee'd up -- and, well, it kept working.

I heeled my first couple shots, which may be related to the change in length, as I had always used -1/2" on my fairways. I can't yet say for certain that it is longer than my CB5, but given the conditions, it probably is. Mishits toward the heel are definitely less punishing. My playing partners couldn't tell how bad I mishit it. As a general comment, I think this club sounds weird and may take some getting used to. The heel shots sound extra terrible.

Flight is medium height and it looks like I'm generating sufficient spin. The conditions were very wet, muddy, and rainy, and I felt like my yardages were right on, regardless. And you know, I was nervous about getting the HZRDUS Yellow shaft. I had spec'd it out and ordered it before I went on WRX. Apparently there is some apprehension about the shaft, perhaps being that it is marketed as counterbalanced. I didn't really notice any lightness, or funky feelings with it and I'm pleased with how it turned out.

The only thing I don't like about the club is that I ordered it with the Lamkin UTX grips, which for whatever reason feel undersized. Annoying.

I look forward to playing more rounds with it.

How does it play to flex? I'm undecided between the 83S and the 83X in a SZ 5w. Probably going with 83S and tipped an extra half inch.

The hzrdus yellow 83x is a really good shaft.  I have it in a 5 wood currently and will be coming in rogue SZ fairway...

How does it play to flex? I'm undecided between the 83S and the 83X in a SZ 5w. Probably going with 83S and tipped an extra half inch.

X feels on the softer side to me.

I'm not sure what standard tipping is.  My 5 wood is tipped 2 inches my 3 wood was tipped 1 inch.  The 6.5 hzrdus yellow when cut to a fairway length stiffens up a bit.

So I was able to get some range time with my SZ 3 wood and all I have to say is WOW!!! This thing is a monster!!!!

Now I never really got along with my previous 3 wood (Titleist 915F 15 degree with Graphite Design Tour AD DI 7x all standard from Titleist) so I rarely hit it and almost never from the deck. But this SZ is just right!!! Like others have stated here, it is super easy to get airborne and it just goes with a mid to high penetrating trajectory!!! Seems to be a lot less punishing on off center hits... Hit a few off the heel and toe and distance didn't really to drop off hugely and same goes for the low on the face strikes. Dispersion seems good also but then again all this was with really sh*tty range balls so I am still wanting to "test" on the course with actual golf balls but initial impressions say that this SZ 3 wood is in the bag for sure!! Pretty sure I will pick up a SZ 5 wood also

How is the IZ shaft in a fairway?

First time trying it out and I like it! Seems to me that Graphite Design has hit the nail on the head with this shaft (at least for me). Looks to be a little lower launching than the Tour AD DI which I like and doesn't seem to have that slight kick at the bottom that the Tour AD DI (The IZ hasn't done that thus far) does which I don't like at all even though the Tour AD IZ is a stiff compared Tour AD DI which is a X I use in my Titleist. The IZ is tipped an inch and also in a glue in head so I don't know if that has anything to do with it? Overall it feels like it has a overall stiffer profile than the Tour AD DI and feels a bit stiffer in the tip section hence why I don't feel the kick at the bottom.

PS: I don't have access to a launch monitor so there will be no numbers

Ive been a loyalist to the mighty Cobra LTD fairway since it came out.  Nothing has come close.

I caught a demo of the SZ Rogue fairway and I am lusting for it.  Its AS good, but Im not ready to say better.

The stock setup was giving me the same numbers as my fit, aftermarket shafted Cobra on a CG2.

Hence the lust - a properly fit SZ fairway wood with the right shaft could be better.

I find that insane, but true.

Definitely a must try for those in the market.

Well, the sub zero is impressive - I gave it a go with a Tensai CK Pro Blue, and it was as long and maybe a whisker longer than the LTD (also with Tensai CK Pro Blue).  But I was wildly inaccurate with it.  It went long...and everywhere.  Left and Right.  This is a no-go for a driver alternative where the whole notion is control and placement.

I tossed a Diamana BF in the Cobra, and its just perfect.

Long live the King (LTD fairway).

Ugh. I'm now that guy. I hit the Rogue 3 wood almost the same distance as my driver and much straighter. Thanks a lot Rogue.

I picked up the Rogue SZ 3W (15 deg) on a whim at a local demo day and have hit it a few times in a sim and got a round in this weekend.  Coming from the Epic SZ 3W, I didn't expect a ton of difference, but so far, like the driver, it's playing longer and more forgiving which could very well become my primary option off the tee.
I have the stock Even Flow Blue stiff and it seems to suit me pretty well.  I do wish it was adjustable, not to tinker with lofts, etc, but to more easily try different shafts. Also like the Rogue SZ driver, the sound is way better than that of the Epic.

I play the standard Rogue in a 13.5 degree and it is  the best fairway wood I've hit in a long time. The distance and forgiveness are best on the market at the moment. I have a UST elements shaft in it.
