Hey guys.  I just bought a second pair of Flak 2.0 with RX lenses.  All is good, but for some reason, they fit much tighter than my first pair of Flak 2.0 RX.  Are the arms adjustable?  The arms on the new ones are much more bowed in than the older ones.

I guess that's possible. I ordered both from LensCrafters. The first pair, the pair that fits more loosely, was ordered about two years ago. The most recent pair was ordered a few weeks ago. How can you tell the difference between the two?

Yea seems like it may be so. Do you have the serial numbers? Hard to find photos but here is a blurry comparison of a different model.

I checked and can't find any serial numbers.

Which one would be the Asian fit?  The more narrow one or the one that is more loose fitting?

Okay, so now I have a dilemma.  The first pair of flak 2.0 Rx that I ordered two years ago at LensCrafters are Asia fit.  I didn't order Asia fit, I didn't even know there was such a thing.  I've worn them for two years.   They are incredibly comfortable (maybe even a little loose fitting).

About a month ago, I went into LensCrafters (December 31) and told them I wanted the exact same frame with rx prizm golf lenses.  I had my current frame with me at the time.  They didn't know they were Asia fit, nor did I.  The new frames are not Asia fit and are not nearly as comfortable.  Unfortunately, the lenses are slightly different size (it seems like the curvature is slightly different), so it's not like I can just swap the lenses from one frame to the other.

So who do I go to here? LensCrafters? Oakley?  I guess it's somehow LensCrafters responsibility, but there is no sku on either frame (I guess because they're rx) so it's not as if they could have ordered the new one based on an sku on the old one.

And these glasses are ridiculously expensive.  Each pair was $600 (with my insurance paying about $350 of it).

Any advice?

If you had the original frame (Asian fit unbeknownst to you) and then said I want these same frames and didnít get the exact same frames then I would hold LensCrafters to the fire. Thatís their job to match the frames you had brought in. If they canít get Asian fit then get a refund.

Correct.  That's exactly what happened.

I do have an update though.  I went to the Oakley vault yesterday to figure out what I had and what I wanted.  They brought out several different flak 2.0 frames, both Asia fit and standard fit.  Here's the funny thing.  There was very little difference between the two (other than the nosepads which are larger on the asia fit).  And this brings up the million dollar question, which is what the heck are my original pair?  The guys at the Oakley vault were left scratching their heads, as am I.

But this story has a good ending.  I tried on a bunch of different standard flak 2.0 frames that were on display and believe it or not they all fit a little differently due to manufacturing tolerances.  But unfortunately oakley couldn't swap them out for me.

As it turns out, there was a LensCrafters directly upstairs in the mall (not the one where I bought the first or second pair) and I went up there to explain the issue.  Like the Oakley vault, they had nothing that looked like my first pair of flak 2.0s.  However, they did have one pair that fit more loosely than my second pair and they were happy to swap it out for me.  And the bonus is that the pair they had was dark gray, which I actually prefer over my matt black.

So all is well that ends well.
