So I noticed that Tiger has the new M3 driver from Taylormade in the bag at the Farmer's insurance open. However, on the 2nd day, he went back to using his M2(original 2016 model) driver. Why do you guys think that is? And what are your opinions on the new twist face, do you think it's really a big deal?

I was a little surprised when he had the new one in the bag yesterday.

He had been hitting the M2 well at hero and he’s not big on changing equipment if it works.

I’m sure Taylor would prefer him in the latest stuff but he can certainly use what he wants.

watched him play on Thursday, never really looked like he was completely comfortable with the driver - hard to tell given he’s still in the “comeback” stage. Have to assume the switch would be confidence related...

:sorry:  Totally messed that one up guys, I saw a clip from his round at Torrey last year(this is embarrassing) which is why I thought he went back to his old M2 LOL. So he's still using his new M3 driver. But I'm still interested to see what people think about the new drivers from taylormade(especially if you've had your hands on one already!) and if you've noticed the taylormade guys having improved driving performances compared to last year  :)

I agree, he does seem like he's not driving it as well but that probably also has to do with the fact that Torrey Pines has narrower fairways than the Hero world challenge course!

It seems like Taylormade is really trying to push the marketing with the twist face tech. Very interested to see how the year progresses with the new drivers!

I was surprised he went back to the M2 since the M3 is like "one more" than the M2.

I didn't find any photos on Getty of him with the M2 yesterday so I meant to come back and ask where you saw him hitting it haha

DJ, Rahm and Day seem to be getting along fine with their new equip...

Yeah, guess it's just Tiger's skill being rusty or lacking in comparison to these guys...

Yes, Except that’s a tough ask on a course that’s 7700 freaking yards long.

Damn he looks bad off the tee!!  Hideous. The putting and short game today were epic however.  Very impressive.

Tiger has been using the M3 for all his rounds at Torrey.  Looking at the photos on Getty, Tiger moved the weights around on his M3 driver.  Rounds 1 and 2 he had both weights side by side at the end of the straight section of the Y track.  Round 3 he had one weight at the end of the straight section of the Y track and the other weight in the fade position.  This could explain some of this wayward drives in round 3.
