So, I was playing 18 with my son yesterday. On this course, there are a couple short par 4s. For me, they're up around 300-310 yards, well-guarded by traps, etc. Neat holes. My son, 12, had a tee shot to one, up-hill, between two bunkers, 237 yards from his tee. He's a little guy, about 70 pounds, but is blessed with a beautiful swing. He drove the green. It was the coolest thing. It was the one time I shot a video of him hitting the ball and, afterward, took a photo of him standing by his ball on the green. Very proud of this boy. He's tackled some major struggles with a disability since he was a baby and just continues to forge ahead in life. Got his blackbelt in karate about a year ago, became a very good soccer player, and recently "retired" from soccer to focus on golf. Golf, we realize, is providing the next environment for him to tackle challenges that will allow him to move forward in life. So...it was a very special moment.

Oh man, that's awesome.  I play a lot of golf and can say that watching my son hit a great shot feels better than hitting a great shot myself... I just wish he would do it more often.  LOL

LOL... Yeah, he does say, "Dad I want to eat more so I can hit the ball longer." Finally, something is motiving him to eat!
