these (SC) Felt amazing but having doubts about the forgiveness - the AP2 and xforged seemed miles for forgiving

have to disagree here- had them for a week and felt like lumps of hard metal with zero forgiveness to me- gutted as I wanted to like them after a fitting

Disagree on what in particular? I sure hope you’re not referring to the SC as lumps of hard metal? LOL

NO players MB or CB feels good on thin shots....it’s just distance loss that you want minimized....that’s why they’re in the better ball striker’s category and not “I need forgiveness” category....

Buy them. They will force you to get better and practice more. I was an alright striker prior to my purchasing and now I can hit blades (pretty much all types) relatively seemlesy. The real part that I need to
Improve upon with my game now is better and more consistent shaping and situational play.
The MP18s, you canít miss with them regardless they are MB, SC, MMC, or fly hi.

I bolded in your post the AP2's, its them I found to be hard lumps of metal- got rid of the AP2's in a week and bought Mizuno MP18 SC, lovely irons

thats interesting- evidence? or is it your opinion as I actually find the MP18 VASTLY more forgiving than the 718 AP2, just my opinion but its based on several fittings and actual play- trackman showed a huge difference in dispersion over the ap2

I have been demoing SC vs iBlades. Similar in specs. I hit the iBlades longer and more consistent. Find them a bit more 'forgiving' for me. ;)

you only had 7-PW. Unless it's shovels you wont see much difference in any well known decent iron 7-PW.

The 'look' from a players perspective on a 4 or 5 iron is confidence inspiring over my (or any) blades

im having a hard time not ordering these .... I want MP irons in the bag bad.

I loved the MP53 and MP15 but haven't like any mizuno MP since then but the looks on the MP15 are enough to want them.

Just telling you what I am feeling, buddy. I will never take away that they're bad clubs. For being my real first new set fitted just for me, they were a gem but, I honestly liked my Cobra Pro MB / CBs and Wilson V5's a little more. It's a great set. Feel was awesome. Looks are deadly sexy. But, the scores and confidence didn't lie. The more I played with them, the less comfort I felt.

I have a set coming.
I couldn't resist anymore.

S300 3-PW with MCC4 and a pair of S18 Wedges 52.09 58.08 matching specs...

I've gone through the Xforged in a bunch of rounds in Florida - they are better in the fitting than they were on the course.

The Xforged were Very punishing when I played them...

Played my 5th round since getting them  short irons are lasers   Very impressed how well i can work ball with 5-pw   My worst miss is a toe shot and when that happens these hold the line and distance loss is quite nice  these are probably a club longer than my I20s but swing changes are improving my strike   These are the best mizzys

Just my opinion, I find the ap2s a little more forgiving than them. I currently play the iblades and like them better than both other sets.

that goes to show you everyone is different - I found the Iblade impossible to hit for some reason they didnt work for me.

I found the AP2 very forgiving.  The X Forged Not so much - didnt like the MP 18 indoors but hit them off grass and loved them.  I have a set coming.

I would put the MP18 MCC's on par or a fraction more forgiving than the AP2's.  And if we are comparing the MP-18 MB or SC against the AP2, then I would rate the AP2 as the more forgiving of the three models followed by the SC and then the MB.

forgot to say in previous post I have C taper Lites in mine an that attributes to the laser like ropes I can hit. Mishits are not punished severely. U put a bad swing on em and you get what you deserve BUT IT IS QUITE MANAGEABLE.
Turf interaction is superb. What I really want to know is how good the SC 18 wedges are.  I just stripped the finish on my MPT10 black oxides and love the grinds on them.  They are still in great shape and confirmed on trackman spin was still good with them.

these are getting amazing reviews among local golfers....

Awesome on the course - medicore on the trackman.

I was underwelmed during a fitting but when i tried them off grass I was floored at the feel and sharpness through the turf!

Can they be the MP15 replacement I need.

The game is properly played outside off grass without a LM belching out numbers. Nothing can compete with hitting shots off real grass to feel the club go thru the turf, the rough or sand. And watching the ball fly thru the sky towards the intended target rather than a line on a screen is beyond compare! Mizuno excell in their playability and outdoor trsting before buying is mandatory in my opinion.

The SCís or MMCís will nicely replace your MP 15ís. Canít go wrong with either!

Agreed. When I started with a new coach at the end of last season they said that I was to avoid launch monitors and AstroTurf matts and hit shots at the grass range or on course.

Last year I spent a ton of time with LM's trying to hit particular distances and through that lost sight of how to play "golf."

Now I'm practicing my new swing on course and every few months going back to my coach and she'll let me see the numbers which are always pleasantly surprising.

I didn't hit the JPX 900's particularly well on trackman but the 6 weeks I tested them on course the numbers were good, dispersion good and trajectory good. Just shows you, having data is one thing but it is isolated and will never accurately reflect the lies and conditions on am actual course.

Going for irons solely off of trackman numbers will likely end badly.

Mp18 sc and ap2 are not apples to apples 718 CB is on par w sc and a gorgeous club.  Itís coming down to mp18 mb/sc vs titilest mb/CB.  My club opens soon so will get on course real demo.  Simulators are not cutting it.

I own the MP18SC and to me these are amazing.
I got fitted last nov. at CC for these with steel fibers 110cw. I got terrible disappointed after struggling with the shaft for more than two months.

I replaced the shaft with sf 95 and they become wonderful. Iím extremly happy that I am hitting them very good, even if my HCP is around 14.

My P-790 are arriving on Monday but now I donít want to put the MPís down. Itís so rewarding, even addicting, to hit the Mizunos

Im lookign for some Real on course results for those who have played MP18 SC.

Ive played MP33 52 53 (best ever) MP 15, 64 and a few others over the years....

I haven't been too happy with the latest mizuno irons - the 25s were horrible.

Looking to go back to MP irons and the MP18 SC Look great.  I've hit them in the fitting bay a few times and hit them decent but not amazing but havne't hit with S300 which is what I always play.

Anybody playing them?  Can anyone compare with other MP irons?? Can anyone compare with I Blade, Ap2 or Xforged??

Distance, forgiveness or feel???

Thanks!

MP18 SC are unforgiving and short X forged are best of ones you mentioned
