i just watched it.  a few thoughts....

cirbie?...wtf???  surprised she doesn't play in doc's.

kim is def. the strongest player.

the 250yd 5-wood was hilarious.  but the most shocking were the shots from 50 yards?  those chicks sucked.  they couldn't even hit the damn green from 50 yards????  they make women in general look bad.

they heavy one and the older one in the stupid hats.......i just don't get it.  neither of them have game.

i am no feminist....you all know that.....but what the H is up with this show when they go to show a shot...they start by zooming in on the chicks hips and then slowly zooming out.  i understand the purpose...and it isn't golf related in anyway.  and you're lucky that they only do it on the skinny chicks....i waited for the big girl to get the zoom in....alas....no.  but enjoy it.  i find it highly annoying.

i'm just sayin, when they do the big break dudes....they don't zoom in on their junk.

i most identify with adrianne as far as game, build, swing, attitude.............minus the flaming red curly hair and deep southern accent.....she's my pick.

I watched it and wasn't as dissapointed as I thought I might be. I'm gonna call nerves on most of the performances out there. There were some really nice chip shots made and other than a few of the ladies you really didn't get to see much of their game.

I also got to see that the winner of this one gets a chance to play in the Navistar event which is now held here at my local Trent Jones course. I didn't get to go to last years because of work but will defenitely be there for this one.

Did Cirbie even hit a golf shot??? The only thing she did was make a four footer for a 5 from 50 yards. It's too bad because she would be good for the show but she will be out very early.
Hopefully the big girl will get booted first. She thinks she is better than them all but she is a ars like that senior guy that got booted by that 15 handicap Mark (from BB1)....

lori is a member of my home club.  i don't really know her at all, but everyone says she's very nice and that she's a heck of a player.  she lost her lpga card through a series of unfortunate events.  lori is the second girl from my club to make the show.  brie from an earlier season is also from rio pinar.   and somebody told me there is yet another girl from rio who was on the show....i guess with golf channel being based in orlando, it makes sense.

What's up with the Asian chick?

"oh well...it's just a game, right?"

"I want to play in the eliminations because we get to play more games"

WTF?  This is going to be like a train wreck.  I won't want to watch, but.....

To me, the ones that will go far will be Liz, Kim, and Samantha.  I'm hoping Liz will win, she almost whooped it on one of the "make it within the circle" challenges.

As for Cirbie, who knows what she's doing there.  Visual purposes?

Is it just me or is Adrienne absolutely amusing on the side?  She has amusing side comments.

Lori was a bit arrogant, I'll agree, but I think it was mainly from fear. She's in her 40s and this is her last hurrah. At 13 she was an alcoholic and a drug addict. She also attempted suicide in her teens.

She's just scared...and I think that will get her off the show more than anything.

Just some observations:

Anybody check out Cirbie's bag?  Playing with a 975J, 975F, and a SC Ti3.  The putter I can understand still being in the bag, but the woods?  You'd think she'd upgrade to more forgiveness and technology - she needs it.

From Lori's bio:

At age 13, her drinking and drug addiction eventually led to a suicide attempt. Later, at 25, she tried cocaine for the first time and was hooked. During her destructive early twenties when she was caught in a vicious circle of drugs and alcohol, she worked at the TPC at Eagle Trace in Coral Gables, Fla. At 27, in an attempt to help Atsedes straighten out her life, her grandmother gave her the money to go play golf in Europe.

75% "The Real World"
25% Golf

That's generous.

I'm on the fence about this season.  I mean, I'll take it (it's golf and it's good looking women and there is some talent to be seen, it's still REALLY early) but when the real golf-season starts and is in full swing, I have less tolerance for mediocre golf-things.  When it's 28 degrees and snowing in NYC and playing golf is months away, I'll watch anything, even SkyCaddie and GolfLogix commercials just to see some golf.  But now, they'll have to work harder to keep my attention.  Zooming in on their junk (thanks crabby) won't be enough for me, because believe it or not, the "Real World" portion of the show is not the reason I watch.

I watched it.  I don't know what to make of this season.

I think, er, hope they were nervous, and that was why they played so-so.  I was unimpressed with the golf.  Nice people.

The thing is, I see the problem with the format now.  I never watched Survivor, I thought it was stupid.  But I did start watching Biggest Loser (the weight loss show).  At first I was horrified by the concept of taking morbidly obese people and putting them on camara for entertainment.  But I watched enough to see why it works.

It works because eventually you care about the outcome, because you see how hard they work, and you get to know enough about them to care, as much as you can, about someone you are unlikely to meet.

I see clearly how Big Break could modify to be more interesting.

1. Break into pairs or teams, give them enough time to bond.  Might create teams with different level players (A, B, C vs. A, B, C)
2. Have coaches.
3. In the early rounds, put a couple players into elimination danger, and let the others pick who has to leave.

But I'll keep watching, hoping it gets better.

I noticed that too. "Christina is like me, an althete, a competitor..."

Could those two elimination holes be any easier? A short wide open par 5 and a short wide open par 4.

Only one player (Susan) could barely sneak it past 200 yards in the grid with driver. I don't care how hard the wind is blowing, that's weak.

No wonder the drama and conflict is being highlighted now more than any previous series. Aside from Kim, Adrienne and maybe a couple others it's doubtful par would be broken on an LPGA setup by these ladies. There were some decent short irons and wedges, but that's it.

I think the only way Kim doesn't win this thing is if it comes down to a putting challenge in an elimination or something like that. I think the best golfers are:

Kim
Liz
The European cougar that used to pose naked in calendars

As for the others, they will slowly fade away. I predict the Asian girl to be gone first...she is clueless. Also, I think the older ladies will begin to fade under the pressure. I am glad the girl in the pink hat stayed from last night's show as she at least keeps the eye candy at a good level on the show. Liz is ridiculously hot though. Some guy is going to be lucky to get her looks and her desires to play golf all of the time.

Any way, I think it will be a good season...just give it time. Christina has the looks, but my God is her attitude a turn off.

No matter how much we complain about the drama of this series, it's hard not to watch.

Christina had a bit of a rough start in yesterday's elimination, but Lori came through for her in the crunch.  It was nice to see that teamwork.

Dana and Lori are about to drop their gloves one of these days I think and I'm still not sure why - haha...more drama to come I guess.

Here's what Christina had to say about the episode 10 minutes after it aired (don't forget, they have no idea what's going to be shown on TV).

We need a new thread for each episode. Last nights was good cause you start to see some skill (or lack of). Kinda lame that you can miss a large circle from a yardage that you picked, don't go 200yrds in the fairway, not come close to the pin from 100yrds out then just get par on 2 easy holes and still be on the show. I thought the reason for the show was to find some real talent. At this rate it will be years before we have a winner.

Who would you want to room with? I choose Dana the cougar, she seems the funnest. She also hugs her roommate alot.

I agree - a new thread for each show would be good.  Otherwise, this is going to be a very long posting for a very long series.

It was your idea xtremeinaz, so why don't you kick it off.

Don't forget, Ka'anapali Kai is quite a short course - almost executive like.  I did a review of it here last fall when I played it.

It was the first time I ever broke 90.

I am pretty sure the ladies at BB will be playing the Royal course which is much longer in future shows.

i just watched yesterdays episode.

414 is ridiculous for a par 5.  that's embarrassing.  this isn't the local ladies league championship they are playing for....it's the freaking LPGA!  and a year long exemption onto the Duramed Futures TOur.  i checked the score card for the most recent Duramed event and their shortest par 5 is 485.  that was crazy.  and then the chick in pink took a hybrid off the tee with a fairway as wide as the day is long????

i was amazed that almost all of them missed the green from inside 125 yards and then none of them but one could drive a golf ball 200 yards to a wide-open fairway.  once you reach a certain level of golf .....you have to be able to pull out the shot somehow, even into a 35 mph gust.  those are the shots that win you money.  that's why you practice in every different condition possible.  you practice knockdowns and stingers.  any pro can show up and flip a pitching wedge to a green the size of my house.....it's the ones who can knock down a choked 8 iron into gale force winds and stop them in the blue zone that make the cash.

lori.....give it a rest.  when she chubbed that approach shot i laughed my butt off.  she is no athlete, that's just scary.  i have heard enough of her past experience.....show up or shut up.

cougar lady.....she's a riot.  game?  not particularly....but she provides some excellent sound bites.

kim is the ringer.  they may as well hand her the prize money and the car now.  she totally mocks all of them and they don't even know it.

the chick that wears the coconut bra and has that wavy hair.  is it me or are her shoulders wider than my 47" flat screen?

stupidest.show.ever.
