I don't know if this has been posted before or if anyone needs this info, but we have all found balls with someone else's markings on them and wished they weren't there. Normally, I just play them as they are and not put much thought in, but yesterday I found a one hit wonder TP5x and this thing was drawn all over in various colours like the persons kid got to it. Anyway, what I discovered last night was that my SO's nail polish remover was the perfect solution. The ball now looks like it just came out of the sleeve.

Go clean those balls!

Yes.  Active ingredient in nail polish remover is acetone.

I prefer Goof Off.  Has both Acetone and Xylene. Works slightly better than acetone alone.

I’m not sure what the active ingredients are in Comet. But it will clean permanent marker off a white board no problem.

Someone said to draw over with Sharpie and the immediately wipe off. Perhaps works in "emergency", I have not tested.

Might have mistaken it for dry erase markers. Dry erase markers have a solvent making them easy to remove.

Just tried acetone, didn't work, I'll try the other suggestions as well, thanks for the ideas.

A drop of hand sanitizer and a magic eraser works very  well.  I've tried the dry erase marker and it actually works.  but it smears and you still have to use something else to final clean.  Older marks are not completely going to go away.

You can use milk to clean permanent marker off of a white board.
