I never touched it either.  Or at least I didn't inhale.

That's a birdie the hard way right there.  I've never managed that one.  That has to be worth two or three dots if gambling.

I did it 18 times once on a golf course in Santa Rosa, NM that had no grass. I didn't go back.

Best kinda birdies are the ones you never expect!
As you walk down the fairway of life you must smell the roses, for you only get to play one round.

Lol...from the title I was trying to figure out how it happened "okay first shot on short par 4 dunks in a lake, then 3rd shot goes from tee and slam dunks, is that even possible??"

I was wondering as well.  For some reason I had a cart path in mind.  I don't know why I wasn't thinking about bunkers.  On a par 3 it would be very possible.

That is awesome! I had a birdie a few years ago that never touched fairway or green but it did touch grass. Flared the tee shot right into the trees. There was tall grass there. Second shot to the side of a green on another hole. Then dunked it from there for birdie. We all had laughs about it.

I took 7 shots to get out of a bunker once. And I eventually came out by hitting the ball clean and sending it 80 yards back down the fairway. Walked away with 17 on a par 4.

That was just..ridiculous. The hole is normally an easy par 4 (slightly downhill and green enclosed in a bowl -it's actually called 'The Bowl'). It was my second handicap card and a comp. And to cap it all for all my various issues getting out of a bunker isn't normally one of them. All in all a bit of a 'Kevin Na' moment:

1. Tee shot catches tree branch drops down 50 yards in front of tall bush.
2. Some idiot (me) decides to go for the green anyway, assuming I can either clear the bush (I didn't) or that a 9i would power through it anyway (it didn't).
3. Punch the ball out.
4. Inexplicably thin the ball into the first fairway bunker, 30 yards in front.
5. Successfully get ball out of bunker on first attempt. Rolls into second bunker.
6 to 12. Attempt to get out of second bunker.
13. Fly ball 120 yards to the green. It rolls off into the rough.
14. Chip ball...onto fringe.

Double junk - nice

Actually a good bet against anyone "what they think they can shoot if they have to be in one bunker on every hole"

Most guys go at least 15 shots higher than their estimate

This is the absolute best thing about having a good short game. You can go from underdog to dream-crusher as you crawl into someones mind.

Playing a great golf course that i rarely get a chance to play.  2 over going into 9th hole - par 5.
1.  snap hook ball OB.
2.  tee up again
3.  Nail tree on right side of fairway over pond, Ball bounces to right and into the pond.
4.  drop but no really clear shot
5.  try to punch between 2 trees to get back into fairway - hit tree, deeper into woods
6.  hit another tree, still in woods
7.  hit another tree, do not get out of woods
8.  hit another tree, do not get out of woods
9.  punch ball out but in the rough with no shot to try and reach green
10.  lay up to 100 yards
11.  hit ball into right bunker
12  hit ball over green into left bunker
13  hit ball back over green into right bunker
14 hit ball onto green about 10 feet away
15...make the 10 foot snake....yeah...15

All the while my buddies are telling me...just pick it up.
Hell no, going to finish the hole.

Golf is FUN!!!  From 2 over to 12 over on one hole.  4 over on back so 16 over for the day...88.

2 to 12 over, finished the hole and finished the round strong. That’s actually impressive. Most people have a “blow up hole” and never recover.

In our game that would be worth worth a nice handful of junk!

Double sandie, birdie, nasty (anything that goes in for par or better from off the green), poley (any holed shot for par or better that is longer than the length of the flagstick)

My craziest birdie was when i hit it OB two different times only to have a tree knock it back in play...#6 at my course, still remember it

-I fanned my drive way left headed well into OB, tree knocks it back into the left rough but leaving me a weird stance
-I pull hook my second shot about 20yds right of the green which is also OB, hits another tree and knocks in back into play about 5yds short of green
-Chip in

Playing against a guy and this happened. Par 5, I have knocked it on in 2 about 20 feet down hill. Opponent Hits second into creek that follows from in front of green to the right side of fairway. He was laying up and hit right and into the hazard. He had to drop into some heavy Bermuda rough and draws a terrible lie. I have walked up to my ball on the green as he was dropping. He's about 80 yards out and hits this wicked skull that is about 4 feet high. I watch as it descends into the cup on the fly. I am close enough to watch this ball just spin around the cup for at least 40 revolutions. Had to make a 5 footer to have the hole.

Pal of mine today. Tee into fairway bunker, fairway bunker to greenside bunker, from greenside bunker slam dunk it. Birdie 3, never touched grass.

Par 3, pull hooked 40 yards left into Desert, find ball, sand wedge to a hill above the green, bounces on, into cup for birdie. 4th birdie that day, but don't remember any of the others.

OOPS! Didn't read the never touched grass part, mine was a stupid birdie, but certainly touched grass. I'm not sure I have ever slam dunked a shot, much less for birdie.

I've definitely done some crazy things to make a birdie, but that is wild. Craziest I've done is bunker to bunker to hole out, woods to bunker to hole out, or woods to impossible chip to flop shot hole out.  Never touching grass when holing out is something I doubt I'll ever see.  That's wild.
