I'm overrun by clubs (few hundred) and I'm seeking a good solution that I can expand upon and that is organized. I'd appreciate your ideas.

I built a rack like the one below for my garage. It's now full.  I actually bought some metal garbage cans at Walmart for my overflow. Maybe a more vertical solution would save space. I've crawled the internet and found some so-so ideas and thought I'd go hardcore and ask WRXers.

How do you store your clubs?

Storing nice, vintage golf bags is also a problem, since mice seem to like to cozy up inside them. Now I have them in huge contractor garbage bags I've sealed with duct tape.

Here's a rack something like mine:

I'd bet you could store at least 30-40 golf clubs in one of those old staff bags.  Kill two birds with one stone.

Should not have mice in the garage.  They spread terrible things.

We live near the woods and we started a compose bin in the far corer of the house ( scrap from vegetation only ), and we welcomed several raven and crow families by giving out food scraps.  They guard the back wood and took care of the mice issue.

Always set mouse trap in the early Spring and late Fall in the garage and in food storage place.  No mice live in my old staff bags and I have at least 5 of them not counting the carry bags.  A couple of new ( near new ) staff bags are in the corner of the den and family room just in case I feel like a few putt off the tight knit carpet ( which rolls the golf ball pretty well ) all the better or collectible golf clubs are in these inside the house so they won't go through the seasonal change from temperature and moisture.

O.P. home made golf rack is well done and why not built a few of these and line them up against one side of the wall ?   Caution for storing the old staff bag in a horizontal position.  It'll damage the inner lining if not stored properly.  I had seen many of the older staff bags with cracked plastic inner lining and it cost $$$ to have it replaced.

Tons of good advice here. Thank you very much.  We have hawks, crows, and snakes. I have never seen a mouse in the garage, but I have found their empty nests.  In fact, I received a golf bag full of clubs from an auction site that had a mouse nest in the bottom. Lovely.  Can anyone say "new grips"?

Here are a couple pics of some of Arnold Palmer's collection. Note in the face-on shot the wire he has to hold the clubs instead of wood. I like that.

You could use Grid Wall for horizontal storage of individual clubs.  Fishing pole storage systems might give you some ideas.

No one can compete with Arnold, Besides he had all the money, he also gets golf clubs for "free".   Many of those in his collection were hit but a few times if he had time to get to it.

In the bottom pic, bottom right, see those white clubs?  They look left-handed.

A couple of years ago (at age 72) it finally dawned on me that I will most cerainly never play any of those hundreds of excess clubs and that there was no reason to be a hoarder. I donated them all to the local kids' golf organization. Feels good

Good for you!  I'm 68 and not a hoarder and need to keep track of the ebb and flow of my clubs and accessories.
