Guys this is my first topic, but i had to post this so everyone is aware of potential issues with True Spec.  I went through the fitting process at their Orlando location and could not have been happier.  The process was fun and educational for me and i really feel the new fitted irons and wedges will help my game.  After wards i got the price tag for a set of new Taylor Made 790s and while it was more than i would pay from TaylorMade, i felt the supposed quality of the TrueSpec build would be worth it.  Order was placed on 12/29 and they were received on 1/10/18 at my office.  When i go to to grab them my jaw dropped at the package.  The top is totally open, i dont actually think they taped it shut as their is no eveidence of tape and these brand new club heads are banging into each other (shipped Phoenix to Orlando).  I have a call into their HQ but am almost speachless at how pissed i am right now.  Has anyone else had issues like this and if so what did you do about it?

Sheesh. No tape on the box is hard to explain on an expensive purchase like that. ..

Will shipping companies even accept a box that isn't at least somewhat taped shut?

the few times i've gone to a store to ship any item (USPS, FedEx, UPS), the clerk would sometimes add more tape on top of the tape I've had. they may notice a weak spot or something. i didn't mind it. the more the better.

I assume in this case it's simply a driver picking it up with a label already made. we all know how quick those drivers are and either didn't notice or don't care to add or ask for more tape. just get the packages and go.

Dang.  No tape on the box and no filling or bubble wrap or anything?  Even if the box was taped it seems like the irons should be better protected.

At least the clubs weren't put into a USPS paper envelope...so...you've got that going for you.

Ouch, that sucks that they wouldnt put tape on it.  I saw the pictures and thought it may have been glued shut like some boxes, but definately not this one.  Amazing it got through the mail in one piece.

I would ask for either full refund or partial refund that will make the club cheaper than MSRP.

The most important part is that you'll have to be completely satisfied with the result so you don't have to think about this everytime you step up to swing.

Well they offered me a free “fitting” to make sure the club specs were as ordered but other than that they offered nothing.  Basically asked if I saw any scratches or bent shafts, when I said no they said I was fine and it was highly doubtful the specs would have been affected. Offered no type of partial refund but let me know the shipping department would hear about this. Actually they never even asked to see pictures and didn’t respond when I tweeted the pics to them.

that response tells me that they don't think this situation (or you) is serious.. I'd raise few more bells to get their notice.

OK....here's a question:

Top isn't even taped shut.

How did the package get all the way to you without any/all items inside not falling out, and/or stolen?

It is more of a rhetorical question, but.....I think that had the package actually been in an "open" condition all along the way, something would have fallen out, and your shipment would have arrived incomplete.

Something just ain't right here, IMHO

So far I don’t see any damage which seems to be a minor miracle. Also I think it is a miracle that all six clubs made it as pieces of the internal foam packaging did fall out of the box. I think at some point at least 3 clubs fell out and were placed back in, loose. I have no explanation for how they arrived. While fedex clearly beat up the box they also somehow got me all six clubs. I appreciate the commiserations here, TrueSpec could care less.

Thanks for responding. Like you I am amazed that no apparent damage was done with such crappy packaging.
