I received a 2017 Taylormade M2 Tour 3 wood that I was told is tour issue. Can anyone tell me how I can confirm this?

Thanks!

Any pics? I'm no expert or even close but most tour stuff has "TP" on it. At least with TaylorMade. If I'm wrong than I apologize. I'm just trying to be helpful. Pictures will probably solve the dilemma. There's a lot of golf smart people here and even some actual tour golfers that drop in. Definitely a lot of equipment junkies here, of which I am one but I don't really get caught up in specs. If it works for me, I'll love it regardless of brand or tour equipment etc. I think I even admitted last night that I occasionally hit a Dunlop Goliath driver from about 2006. Ha.

well if its a deep face proto 3 wood there will be a paint break at hosel. Also solid scoring lines across the face may be a tell. I have like 3 different Tour Issued 2016 M2's . If you put up a pic it may help define what you have.

Tour issued clubs have CT testing dot(s) on the face. Note the faint white dot in the middle of the face. There will be no TP markings as suggested above. TM hasn’t TP’s woods in some time.

is hard to tell on the 2017 version, anyone can just put a paint dot on the face of the retail head and claim it was CT tested.

I have one on the BST that i know is not a TOur issue, look exactly the same on a tour issue head that i have in possession.

Look at the weight screw, usually the tour issue M2 Tour have a more rigid looking weight screw and retail it’s just smooth

Yes correct different screw weight but you can get the same screw now on ebay and other china store.

Probably Will P. know the difference, between the retail and TI head.

They didn't make 2017 deep face fairways though right? The 2017 line had the M2 Tour, which had retail and tour issue versions out there, but I'm not sure they're different.

A hotmelt port is generally a good sign, but not a necessity I believe.

I'll post a few pictures tonight and get everyone's thoughts. Thanks for weighing in so far! I'll be sure to take a good picture of the screw as that seems it may be a good indicator.

Thanks

Curious on this as well.  The weight screw is different, but like someone said above, those can be recreated in China.

Yap that is the same screw you can get on ebay, and other sites that sell aftermarket weights.

Actually the weight is the same weights on the RBZ, and 2016 M2 heads just different ring attachment.

I bought it from a member who has quite a bit of positive feedback and paid very close to what "tour issue" ebay listings have sold for. I didn't mean to start this thread to question who I purchased it from, it was more just curiosity since I have not seen anything that really sticks out for the M2 Tour version. I previously thought the full face scoring lines was the indicator and then I realized the retail heads have those as well.

Thanks for everyone who chimed in!
