Music has become a large part of golf, with a lot of players now using portable speakers when they go out and play.  So for those of you who listen to music when you play what do you listen to.  I typically listen to country music, and will throw in some classic rock as well.  In general I listen to just about everything so it also comes down to who I am playing with, but I normally stick to those categories.

I've seen people play/practice with earphones in, but never with speakers.  Is that a regional thing or is it going on everywhere?

I've never played with music, but would probably go classic rock or classical if I gave it a go.  But if say Born to Run or Ride of the Valkyries came on, I'd end up pretty distracted.

I've seen it just about everywhere I have played in the last year which has been up and down the entire east coast for the most part

Periodically... various Bobcat cultivated Pandora stations: "Led Zeppelin Radio", "Classic Prog Rock Radio", "Big Head Todd and the Monsters Radio, "Kenny Chesney Radio", etc.
Have a bt speaker but found facing my iPhone speaker into the cup holder is plenty of volume with fewer things to handle/lose/charge.

I have a radio/mp3/cd player and speakers installed in my golf cart (a lot of the members at my course do as well). What I listen to depends on what we are playing. If its me and a few buddies playing a scramble I usually have it on hip hop bar b q on pandora (late 90s/early 00s rap). If its a normal little money game its either Angels and Airwaves radio or New Found Glory Radio on Pandora.

Theres usually at least a couple carts in each group with different music playing but its really not as distracting or blended as you may think.

I always have my bt speaker when I play, even if I’m walking, then I zip it in a pocket. I’m playing country, reggae, classic rock or 90s hip hop. All depends who I’m playing with

I know. I'm often torn over whether I want to listen to some Eagles or Tool...said no one ever. ;)  That's such a wild either/or selection.

I saw the Deftones at a packed approx. 1,000 person venue in Philly around the time when White Pony came out.  Perfect sized place for them then.  Good show.

Yeah, they put on a good show.  They used to come to Salt Lake pretty frequently in the late 90s and theyíd always play venues that were about that size.  Definitely some of my favorite concerts.

Lots of good new rock out there, just harder to find. Depends on what type of rock your into, I skew more hard rock. But 2 newer rock bands I would suggest without knowing your preferences are Highly Suspect and Nothing More. If you like harder than them I would say Avatar.Lots more as well

Funny this comes up. Seen earbuds in but Ive never actual heard music on the course until a few weeks ago. Love music but not a fan on the course...but if it was it wouod be the Eagles or something similar.Bit on contrast from my pump me up ball playing fays of Judas Priest, Ozzy, or AC/DC.

The idea to walk around the course with red Beats by Dre has not entered my mind. I'm too old for this headphones-on-all-the-time. But if I did it would be something like Wilco, i think. Indie/Britpop music has hit me at old age.
