I thought the same thing since Ping doesn't have much of a presence there. I would imagine PXG would've been a better fit.

Yes, KJ Choi is popular in S. Korea...but I think if any pro that would help Ping sell clubs in S. Korea nowadays...it would be In Gee Chun.
Women's golf is far more popular in S. Korea than men's golf.
In Gee has many die hard fans in addition to her 8,000+ Flying Dumbo fans in Korea...so I could see some of these fans buying Ping clubs just because she plays them.
On January 3rd...it seems like there were 20+ fans at the airport in Incheon giving her bags of snacks, candies and chocolates and flowers as she got ready to board a plane to Orlando.
And look at the below video.....what seemed to be 30-40 media and photographers plus 50+ fans there to greet In Gee in Incheon after she won the 2016 Evian....I doubt even Tiger had anyone waiting for him (except his "girl friends ) at the airports in Orlando and/or Jupiter when he won his majors.

If they spent some money on guys they would have a lot more wins. Not their model. Sales do fine without big names or wins.

Nope, both Jack and Spencer are great dudes who love their jobs. KJ is also a great guy, sure he tinkers, but he'll do well with ping.

The guy is 47 plays amazing golf and if you ever see him up close, he might be short but he is thick, built like a fridge. Looks like he squats the back end of his courtesy vehicle as his pre-round workout.

On this site anything other than a tiny blade is GI😉
And agree 100%, I believe he has played ping g's in the past. Have always liked his game and steely demeanor.

He is a multiple winner on the PGA Tour and revered in golf-crazy South Korea. I saw him get one of his PGA Tour wins and throngs of Korean-Americans flew in to give him big galleries the final two rounds. A close-knit community in the U.S. And he is hitting irons that just about any golfer in his homeland can play. Seems like a pretty good move for Ping in an attractive market.
