well I'm in the middle of a flash freeze here north of Toronto

it's gone from 7*C to -4*C in about 90 mins, rain has turned to hail and I could skate home if I push came to shove

Fun to see some Cali weather and read some golf geek talk

I feel you, it's currently -32°C and feels like -34°C here in Edmonton, Alberta.

What I would give to be in Cali right now losing TP5x's all over that state.

I just spoke to my rep in CGY, supposed to be above 0 next week

My buddy from Grand Prairie AB sent me a pic of his phone (from Mexico), showing it was -55*C at home (-67*F) a few nights ago .... Jesus H on a popsicle stick

That'll freeze a Kingdom driver right into your cabretta gloved hands

Driver head would blow up with one hit in that temperature hahaha

That would go perfect in the 'Brag About Yourself" thread...just leave out the temp.

It goes straighter that way. Confirmed by independent testing. As soon as you remove the sticker dispersion increases by 5%. Happens across all manufacturers.

Shameful

It’s an M4 so I need a little heel weighting.

Actually I’m hitting so well with it, I’m not touching it.

Kenton and I finished a little while ago, grabbed our gear and left. Weíre cutting it a bit close for our fights. In Uber car now.

The course was really great. Neither us cared for the 10th hole much if Iím nitpicking. :)

We were also both hitting driver way more than we should. But it was hard not to test and we werenít worried about scoring.

My back locked up for 4-5 holes during the middle of the round but I took some Advil and got it going again.

My initial on course thoughts arenít much different than my fitting. If you put a decent swing on it, the numbers will be pretty tough to beat, if it fits your swing. Any bad shots hit with it today would have been bad with any driver.

I think the twist face is going to be more of a benefit to the tour pros, who deliver the club face to the ball much more consistently than us mortals do.

I'm sure there will be some amateurs that it helps; but when talking about 5-6 yards left and right of the center line, it's going to be really difficult to quantify that in an on-course situation.

At the end of the day, it's all going to come down to look, feel and confidence, just like with any other club... and it speaks volumes of the value of a top notch fitting.

Is the twist face more effective on misses toward the toe or heel? High/low on the face? Does the twist feel weird when it actually does what it's supposed to do?

It's the difference of roughly a half degree, on certain parts of the face, from the standard bulge and roll... and it's actually done to slightly minimize the effect that bulge and roll create.  Toe and heel strikes are still going to feel like toe and heel strikes.

Well that sucks for me lol

I love the guy who does my fittings, but he is limited in what he  can do Looking at the different swing weight and shaft lengths on the abuild sheets you realize what a once in a lifetime experience a trip to the Kingdom is.  It's awesome that Taylor Made does this.

100% agreed.  Don't know of anyone in the Calgary area that could give any where near this type of detailed fitting.  Woods, irons, anything.   Definitely a once in a lifetime experience, although I get the distinct impression some of the participants have had contact with the TM folks in the past.

As a fellow Calgary boy, we're definitely hurting on the fitting front. Wish I could possibly get this experience. Closest we have is maybe Ted and Dave Golf or a Trackman outdoor RCGA fitting.

As another Calgary native I agree, fitting here isn't too great.  I got my TM fit directly with the guy from TaylorMade who does fittings at the Dome.  One of the best places I've heard of is Modern Golf in Vancouver.

My initial on course thoughts aren't much different than my fitting. If you put a decent swing on it, the numbers will be pretty tough to beat, if it fits your swing. Any bad shots hit with it today would have been bad with any driver.

So, it's basically the same as any other driver ever released... ever.

Twist face will help the most with better players for sure.

Looks like everyone is traveling at this point.  The trips are amazing but exhausting and i was knocked out on the flight home especially being 3hrs behind.  Great read i look forward to reading more in depth info once everyone gets settled back home.

I think it will be interesting to see what amateurs are experiencing with twistface.  Most pros are not going to be missing the sweet spot by a large margin, so I would guess that the effects of the tech will be small.  I'm very curious to hear more about what happens if you hit one further off the toe or heel and how the tech responds.  I wonder if it will almost be too much help, with balls starting further off line than we might like to see? I'm hoping some of this is addressed in the detailed write ups to come.  It's interesting tech though!

From Kris Farley I assume? I've gotten it done there as well. One of the better ones but still no comparison to what these guys are getting!
