I know that changing balls isn't going to affect my score, but I still want to try all the new balls coming out

I fall firmly in this support group. I dunno why and I agree with you. The score doesn't change much, if at all and I like to switch between premium and mid grade balls. I'm all for anything that keeps someone excited about golf, no matter how trivial or weird it might be. I'm developing a bit of a ball hoarding problem though.

I definitely do. Just like a car, it’s fun to take a test drive every once in a while. Who knows, it could be your next gamer!

With all of the direct to consumer products (Snell, Vice, Cut, etc.). I love to support these “disrupters” who will continue to push the price down for the consumer and force the conventional players to innovate and reduce costs.

The real problem is that with all this talk abt new balls, it just never gets better than the Prov year in and year out. I get all excited each time a new ball comes out and then still keep going back to my Provs. Even new Pro V can beat old Pro V!!

I'm always game to try new ones when they're free. I guy gave me 2 ProV's. After the front nine I realized why you low handycapers use them.
But it's like trying a new beer, after a few it's back to Miller Lite.

Balls are the perfect way to try something new as they are cheap compared to clubs. Also, if it doesn't work out, they become practice balls or balls we use over water shots. If we buy clubs, spend a lot of money and it doesn't work out, we get pissed and we're out big bucks.

By the looks of your club collection, you enjoy some not so shiny things as well. Your collection is insane.

Not at all. For some reason I get very little satisfaction out of new golf balls, probably the least of anything I buy in the game. I really don't see a large difference most of the time from one ball to another.

I have my favorites but each season I give a couple of new balls a try.  I am fully stocked with Gamer Softs and Softfli's from the Christmas sales but did get a deal on a dozen Duo U's to try next Spring.  I also get some satisfaction from finding the best value in new golf balls for my aging 17 HCP swing.

Yes, I do!  Somehow a new dozen makes me feel rich and have found treasure, and gives me an expectation that I will play good.  Ridiculous, I know.

Do i get excited for new balls for no reason?

Guy, balls are my life. Not the old discolored ones either. But the new, super white (sometimes multicolored if I am feeling froggy), with the bullxxxx "technology" are my jam. They're the best.

No but seriously, it is always interesting to see what these guys come up with. It's very fun to try them out on the course.

Golf makes me mad. Paintball calms me down.

Most are under a dozen and the total of all combined is around 15 dozen or so. About a years worth of balls if I do not purchase any more

Already plan on buying the tester pack of MTB-Red / MTB Black though.  Pretty cheap addiction as most of them I paid well below $30 a dozen or won in tournaments.

You sound a lot like me. I like your variety and general philosophy. It's a cheap addiction and I justify it by telling myself I only buy if it's a deal, but nothing is a deal when you have over a years worth of balls stockpiled lol. Really excited about the new MTB's as well. I can't believe how good the current MTB is, and those are a legit deal I have no problem justifying.

I grew up caddying, so I found more golf balls than I could ever use.  Hardly ever had "new" balls out of a sleeve, so that when I did, it excited me.  I don't know why, I knew they weren't any different than the ball I'd found at work that was probably not much older.  Something about pulling out a new sleeve before a round.
