The Bio cell driver got everyone talk and they carried on talking with the Fly Z but things began to cool off with the F6 onwards. Does anything think TM stole their thunder with their M series?

I have a bio cell,  flyz,  and f7+. Skipped the f6 because I liked the flyz better. F7+ is fantastic. I'll probably wait until the f9 to move from it. To answer your question. I think they are one of the best in drivers and have incredible value if you buy to play and not flip.

I don't think they lost momentum at all, it's just a competitive market and they don't spend as much as the rest on marketing so it's tough for them to get into bags. The FlyZ, F6 and F7 lines are well liked by those that have them, and the LTD appears to have been a huge hit. F8 line is looking very good as well. The TM M Family and Callaway Epic hype couldn't have helped the past 2 years though.

I would like to see the sales numbers for 2016 (I think) when the LTD first came out. I know probably not as high as Ping, TM or Callaway but that thing was the almost unicorn.  Still have mine

Exactly as said above, they're great drivers that have gotten pushed to the backseat during the Taylormade vs. Callaway battle for top dog.

I played King Ltd Pro and loved it. Also demoed and purchased F8+ and think it's an outstanding club. I'm waiting to take it to TrackMan vs. my M2, but I predict they'll be neck and neck with better feel going to the F8+.

Another Ltd Pro player here. F8+ will be my upgrade when the time comes.

For die hard golf fans without bias ó Cobra can hang with most 1-13, great lineup.

I'll add that lots of people know a late season Cobra addition to the bag is one of the best bargains in the game. ;)

Marketing.  It’s a shame cause Cobra has had some great tech and made some great drivers over the years.  I got far better results from the LTD than either ‘16 TM driver.  It’s funny, I feel like Cobra produces the drivers that TM is trying to.  A lot of people could benefit from their forgiveness and length.

Might not compare sales directly, but rather overall profit margins.

With that said, I think Cobra makes some of the best, if not the best clubs for the money, especially the woods.

I think it's fair to say that TM with the M series and Callaway with the Epic series have had a couple of big hits that garnered more attention than usual. I think Cobra's stayed roughly consistent, though, and I think the F8 series is getting some decent attention (particularly with it featuring in Rickie's win).

... I have been a big Cobra driver fan since the Pro S was introduced. Played the ProS 9.1, the ZL and loved it but thought all things considered for spin, trajectory and forgiveness the Fly Z was a bench mark driver. I played the F6 with the weight back and felt is was basically identical to the Fly Z for performance although with the weight up front it provided options. Last year I played the Epic and I have not played a Callaway driver since the original Big Bertha but it was longer and gave me almost the forgiveness of the Fly Z. Drivers are hot and seem to control the market for a year or two, but Cobra has stayed relevant with every offering although the F7 did seem to sputter a little. I am looking forward too hitting the F8 at the Show with a myriad of shafts and expect it to be in my bag for 2018. Ya never know til you hit one and compare it to others but 2018 looks to be another great year for Cobra drivers, even if they don't take over the #1 spot they will certainly be a player.

Does anyone have their driver share for the last few years?

I mean just so this isn't speculation, did they ever have momentum? Is their share actually decreasing?

They have been making really good drivers and clubs for a while. Are you going to see a commercial every five minutes about how their driver will give you an extra 10-15 yards every year?? No.  They don't market like TM and I doubt they ever will.  Are they going to sign a bunch of players to their brand like TM?? Probably never will.  That doesn't mean they don't produce great drivers.

I've been playing for over 45 yrs and have played just about every brand out there and I have Cobra in my bag now and have for the last several years.  Nothings kicked them out and I don't expect anything to. They perform well and hold up well. Woods, Irons and Wedges.....hard to beat.

Now I recognize this is GolfWRX and everyone sees more distance with their new driver every year, that is why a GolfWRXer buys the newest/greatest driver every year. I thought the everyone agreed the idea of more distance with every new driver is just marketing/advertising blabber.

And the more marketing blabber there is about a certain product, the more that same product costs the consumer.

Outside of golfwrx I would argue very few people know or care about Cobra drivers. Ping, Callaway, taylormade with Titleist lagging behind were all sellers in our store. Sold very few cobra drivers and this is a large golf shop at an above average market  area.

I dont think so either...im a pretty solid ping fan in general, but over the last 3 years ive played the ZL encore, f6, and just went and grabbed a mint fly z. I mat grab the f7 when price comes down a bit.

I dont love the new ping driver crowns...and I generally dislike the sound of the newer pings..

The G400 is the best sounding Ping in quite some time...it doesn't sound the G or g30 at all.  There may be complaints about the G400, but sound is no longer one of them.

This. It's like "Black Friday" becoming a thing in the UK. So much hype, media coverage, stirring everyone up and when it drops save for the few who would pay £500 for anything it's a non event. Golf releases are like that now. Hundreds of millions of dollars spent on marketing something that is so tightly restricted that the difference for the pros and top class amateurs is looks and feel. Performance much of a muchness.

The point? Cobra's range is on a par with everything out there, they just don't have the resources to be able to ram it down your throat.

I just wanna know why more pro`s don`t play at least the driver. Alot of these guys are leaving the driver and woods off the contracts it seems, so where are those guys? There has to be a reason these guys won`t play these.

The F8 is on my short list. I didnít like the colors/graphics of some of Cobraís earlier drivers, but clearly some prefer that kind of thing.

I’ve owned an LTD since they came out and love it. Will never get rid of it. I recently picked up a Yonex Ezone 420, and it knocked the LTD out of the bag. New stuff isn’t necessarily better.

Outside of golfwrx I would argue very few people know or care about Cobra drivers. Ping, Callaway, taylormade with Titleist lagging behind were all sellers in our store. Sold very few cobra drivers and this is a large golf shop at an above average market  area.

... While that has some merit everywhere, I have seen more Fly Z drivers on public golf courses than I have seen Epic driver's. Granted the Fly Z is 3 years old but I am always a little giddy when I see one. That said, I see Cobra drivers on the rack at the PGA SS and rarely is the inventory reduced until they go on sale. I am hoping the F8 changes that.

I am still playing the original Zero Limits driver with an upgraded Matrix shaft. The driver is awesome. Long, straight and forgiving.  I am not a Luddite, but there is just not any significant benefit in any new drivers for me. I hit shots side-by-side on Trackman and there just isn't any reason to change.

As to the OP's question, other than knowing Cobra sponsors Fowler, I don't see (or notice) anything for Cobra (in terms of advertising).  I know about the Callaway Epic and TM M1/M2 and Titleist 917 just because of their constant advertising. My guess is Cobra is being severely outspent.

Old stuff:
1962 Tommy Armour AT2W Driver
1953 Macgregor M65W EOM 3 wood
1978 H&B PowerBilt Citation 4 wood
1984 Ben Hogan Apex PC 2-E
1968 Wilson Dual Wedge
1964 Acushnet O-SET M6S Bullseye Putter

New stuff
Cobra ZL 10.5 driver
Adams 5050 14.5 fairway wood
Adams A2P 20* hybrid
Titleist 716 MB irons 4-PW
Titleist SM6 wedges 52, 56, 60
Odyssey RX #9 putter
