Is the Michelob Ultra 19th hole hospitality tent worth the extra $55/person? All you really get is A/C and 2 drinks. Will the heat and sun be that bad? Only supposed to be 80 degrees. Wasn't sure if you could even see any action from inside the tent or not. I would hate to waste the money if there isn't anything special or you cant really see any action from the tent.

This is new this year, so hard to give an opinion one way or the other.  However, it is located within the spectator village between 11 and 18 which isn't conducive to watching live golf.  I imagine they'll have TV's on with both Golf and the NFL.  I don't know if you can see any "live" golf from within the tent.  Waialae isn't a large property and they have to squeeze in spectator amenities where they can.  Hell, even the driving range isn't long enough to accommodate the long high hitters, and they have to erect nets extending from cranes to allow the players to hit drivers.

Thank you for the info. Is it hard to find shade on the course to the point where the AC would be good to have? I guess getting out of the sun for a little while wouldn't be too bad, if that is the only place to go on the course.

Finding shade shouldn't be a problem.  There are many large trees to hide from the sun.

Awesome, thank you. Plan on being there all day. Wife wants the hospitality tent, so who am I to argue with a gorgeous 25 year old woman that wants to attend a golf tournament while on vacation? I hit the jackpot!!

How much is the food and drinks at the tournament? Debating on buying the sweet 16 chalet pass.

I'm assuming you get $10 back for every Michelob Ultra you drink, so if you could stomach a 6 pack you might make out ahead ;)
WITB | Courses Played list | How to leave feedback

"I don't agree 100% with your analysis.  Yes, it's nice to hole out, which I did twice during last weeks game, but didn't need either to win those holes or the match.   All that was needed was a tap in to win each hole.  Of course, I was aiming from 20yds and 15yds with the intent to put the ball in the hole, but the expectation was tap-ins." Jordan played with Kelly Rohrbach in the Pro-Am.  That's a tough pairing when you are recently engaged.

Sure would like to see this tournament on PGA Tour Live.  I get that's it's far away and getting people over there might be tough, but come on, that's why we pay a subscription fee.

Or maybe before 7pm on cable TV.

I can concur with this! She played at the Dunhill Links and I was down there with my new wife. We ended up stuck watching Jamie Dornan aka Mr Grey...you can tell who the boss is haha.

Just watched a little of the tournament and to me it looks like JT should try swinging just a little harder. The besg thing that coukd happen to  him at this point would be a slightly strained muscle in order to get him to stop swinging like a 15 handicap who hits it 220 trying to drive a 350 yard hole.

Did anyone hear the sound of the spikes as Thomas and Kisner walked over the bridge at 17. Music to my ears I miss that sound at the golf course.

making crappy swings like those i saw that miss their targets because he just keeps swinging harder and harder will not help him win anything. Of course the bright side he is he didnt kill anyone by letting go of his club,  well at least not yet.

You gotta love people who not only try to coach up the guy standing next to them on the driving range but offering swing advice to one of the two best golfers on the planet!

Kind of puts to shame the old quote about not taking lessons from anyone who can't beat you.

P.S. Or maybe the guy posting this was really Justin's dad...who I believe is the only person JT listens to.
Everything has its drawbacks, as the man said when his mother-in-law died, and they came down upon him for the funeral expenses.

I’ll be at the tournament this weekend. Are the hospitality tents worth the extra price at this event? Different bathrooms in the tents? I’m assuming port-a-johns are on the course for use. Any good advice for getting autographs or best places to view the tournament?
I know every tournament is different. Any good items in the Merch tents?

Thanks

Well, the guy posting has experience coaching tour players along with regular players and not some 20 handicap who likes to spew swing theory, so there's that.

Swinging harder and harder when things go bad isn't the solution for anyone including the Player of the Year. Again I only watched a few holes casually and there were some ok shots mixed in but several of them were NOT his normal swings and his hand kept coming off of the club making it quite obvious something was wrong. He swung so hard that I actually said something out loud out of surprise. Tone it down for a hole and reset then drive on OR keep swinging like an idiot and shoot three under on a course where you've shot a 59.

Yeah, he'll never win a Player of the Year and money title doin' that stuff.
Ya I mean... cmon how dare he miss target while swinging the club 115mph+.

We all know the tried and true advice - "Just swing easy". That's what wins the big bucks.

No one said swing easy. Again it was out of the ordinary or it wouldn't have even grabbed my attention as I was in the middle of a well-needed massage!!! I didn't say his career was oner, or his swing sucked, or he would never win again. I said he was swinging out of his shoes ( more than normal ) a couple of times out of frustration and that is not a recipe for anyone to shoot their best scores.

I fell asleep but what was the bet over the college football championship game that was going to be settled on the 17th tee? Think it was between JT and Kisner?

JT pulled out an Alabama jersey and Kisner (Georgia alum) had to wear it walking to the 17th green. Kisner took it off before he hit is chip onto the green, but he settled the bet.

Thank goodness college football season is over and the Golf Channel announcers can get back to hyping the Ryder Cup.

Everything has its drawbacks, as the man said when his mother-in-law died, and they came down upon him for the funeral expenses.
