Those of you that use short putters, what head covers are you using?

Depending which putters on time out in the corner, my gamer can be anywhere from 31.5 - 33 inches. Because they are short, I find that the covers rest on the slats of the bag suspending the putter from hitting the bottom of the bag. Because of this, I have had covers fall off and get lost or found in the parking lot etc.

My current bag is a 14 way top, so I can't just cram the cover in to the bag. Currently I just have a gym sock over my putter and I try to stuff it down the divider, but I have even lost one of those.

Iíve used 33Ē putters for a while. No problems with magnetic ping, odyssey, & a custom by Delilah. I usually use a 14 way top & just make sure the putter & cover are firmly down in the slot. Havenít used Velcro in some time.

You need the ones with magnetic, not Velcro, closures. Or the sock type that slip on without an opening, sort of L-shaped with elastic in the neck.

It is a hassle. Fortunately my 32-3/4” one is pretty old. Not beat-up by any means but not “mint”. So I just quit using the covers at all. It nestled down i the bag with the butt end touching bottom and the clubhead just barely peeking out the top.
Everything has its drawbacks, as the man said when his mother-in-law died, and they came down upon him for the funeral expenses.

iíve got this problem with my 35Ē putter and 14 way bag. havenít found a way to prevent it because the dividers donít go all the way to the bottom so I canít just stuff something to the bottom of the slot.

I use a cover from Deliah, with magnetic closures.  No issues with a 33" putter.

My putter cover is a blade style cover with a velcro closing from Sunfish Golf.  I'm 5'5" so my putter is pretty short.  Despite that, I've never lost my putter cover because the slats of my bag are wide enough not so the putter cover does rest on them.

I suggest you put your putter in the widest compartment in your bag to ensure the putter will be in deep as possible without being held up but its cover.

Suggest getting one of those plastic club tubes for one of the slots, then put something in the bottom of the tube (foam piece) so putter does touch the new bottom

unfortunately my grip (midsize pistol, nothing crazy) doesnít fit in those tubes. may have to look at some larger diameter PVC or something

Can you secure something at the bottom of the bag divider that you use for your putter?  Edit- nevermind, see that you tried that already.  Maybe screw something in through bottom of bag?

now THATS a great idea. iím thinking maybe screw a pvc pipe ďend capĒ with a short section of PVC stuffed with a pool noodle

I like this idea better than the full PVC tube because this wonít scuff up my grip and will be lighter. since it will be stuffed with soft material I could probably even use some self tapping screws instead of worrying about bolting it to the bottom w nuts and screws
