Makes sense,. Farmers at Torrey a course he likes.  Skips the AT&T pro am rounds are to long. He's never been a Phoenix Tourney guy even though he has played it.  Genesis which supports his Foundation.  Then if he felt froggy I could maybe see him do Honda to see how well back to back tourney's work before he does the Wells Fargo/Players back to back,  but I wouldn't hold my breath.  If not, wont see him again til probably Bayhill and then the Masters.

If I had to guess his schedule, barring injury or him trying to qualify into something:
Farmers
Genesis
Honda (maybe)
Bayhill
Masters
WellsFargo
Players
Memorial
US Open
National
Open
PGA
Then playoffs events depending on how the others worked out.
So I would think 12-16 tourneys??? I don't see him adding anything in place of the WGC events, could be wrong though.  I guess he could do something crazy and end up getting into some of them later in the season.

I'd sure hate to see him get hurt again.  Rather see him get completely through a more limited schedule this year while he continues to strengthen his back than take on a more aggressive one and have to shut it down early.

He currently isn't qualified for any WGC events (Bridgestone for example) so he will have to start climbing the world rankings before then to get back to Akron.

I'm still waiting to see if he adds any tourneys.  We all know the ones he usually plays.  But he is likely going to miss all four WGCs this year.  He played a relatively light schedule even when those tourneys were automatic for him.  Dude needs some reps.....I don't care what anyone says.

Anybody else think that Finchem & Co. are down at PGA Tour HQ trying to rationalize how they can change the qualification criteria so that Tiger can get an exemption into the WGCs?

It'd be fine with me...after you've won about 20 WGCs you get a few wildcards for old times sake.

I don't like the decision to play at Torrey Pines.  The potential for cold weather does not go well with a history of back injuries.

Hank, Hank, Hank . . .

He's on Sirius XM because he's still trying to get money out of any top 10 player.  Just kidding, and he may be correct about Tiger.

I think if anyone had guessed they would have guessed this is what Tiger would do, so not real surprising.  Hope they cut that rough at Torrey for him and the weather is dry.

Finchem?  My bet is no.

LOL, but Lumber, I know he's gone and I automatically go to Finchem when I think of the Tour - can't even remember the new guy's name, but when I saw him interviewed last year he was even talking in the same style as Finchem, it was off putting.

Ummm... Finchem retired over a year ago.

He’s still a consultant on a hefty retainer (and he gets to use the jet)

Think of him as the puppet master still looming large and pulling strings.

I can’t think of the new guy either.  It’s like Ballmer running Microsoft after Gates or that guy at Apple (Cook?)

It’ll still be Finchem to me until somebody dynamic comes along....and I’m gonna go ahead and say the Votaw guy that used to run the LPGA ain’t it.

Maybe they’ll put another former Player in charge again.   Bubba Watson for Commish! His brand of psychosis would be great for the Tour.
